for those who use ic sprayer, how long t\do you spray the ic before a drag race, and also what do you use co2 or n2o. i know n2o should be injected inside the motor but I am looking at spraying my ic w/ n2o if it will cool more than co2. The diff. in price is only a couple of bucks for 2 lbs. thanks

just use CO2...nitrous will not be the magical gas it is when sprayed on the IC

I use co2 before runs in the warm weather. I made the kit using a 20oz paintball tank in the glovebox, then ran the hose through the fire wall in front of the ic.(all parts cost about 20 dollars)

I use propane before for about 30 seconds and right after 2nd gear till finish (4th). The only thing is that it stinks. But the coolin effects are great!
Do the co2 tanks have the same size fitting? I would love to try and compare the two.

co2 is cheaper and colder than n20.

I get the 2$ bottles wal-mart and they last about 2-3 days at the track. Dose co2 smell as bad cuz thats all I would change the cooling is still enough to freeze the fins.

you cant smell co2 like you can propane. When you spray propane at the track what are you using to engage the propane in 2nd gear.

I have a small shut-off valve next to the shifter I just pull it back when I pull 2nd back into gear. The system is nothin to bragg about I just was going to race this guy who has a modded LT-1 w/NOS and I was lookin for any quick power that day. The kit wll be changed arround Im sure but for now it was 20 min/20 dollar horse power that would have put me ahead of him if he had'nt skiped out on me later that day.

Using co2 it only takes a couple of seconds to freeze your intercooler before a run. I spray my intercooler before a run and the entire way down the track using a HOBBS pressure switch to activate the sprayer. actually liquid n2o is colder than liquid co2 by about 10deg but the prices is what makes the difference. Co2 is the way to go.

Omigod. Well, it doesn't stink so bad as the hideous stench of incinerating DSM interior and trim. But it would make a helluva burnout if you managed to catch that propane cloud on fire.....

Can some of you explain how you made your kits? I'm trying to make one and I was interested in what valves you used and what you used to engage it. Thanks for any help.

Can you notice a big difference with the intercooler sprayed?
