The manifold is not underestimated.. its about where your setup makes power and whether the manifold compliments that. If your turbo/cam is not singing along in a rev-range where the manifold is efficient it won't make power. It's not like they are "restricitive" or choking the motor. They just have a particular sweet spot.

Na 4th I will post the mph sheet Little bit. :it slipped a little in fourth but not bag only between 5 an 6000rpm.

South bend kevlar with competition 2700lbs pressure plate. The kevlar sticks when it heats up which helped on the second 4th gear pull but did slip a little

Thanks! It will be a second for some track results. I will be doing a job out of town and will not be available until late November. In the mean time I will be upgrading the fuel pumps and some other things

Nice numbers, but ya know at the same boost it would be making more than 700, and still 500ft lbs.

I know I read a very interesting article you wrote about the subject and it makes perfect sense. Its something I will definitely consider in the next month or so. Chasing this record for over a year, I am tired Thanks.

Okay here is the 3rd gear pull with the clutch slipping after the kevlar heated up it was able to hold a little better in 4th. Ignore the speedometer it will be fixed tomorrow

Congrats dude!! hoping i also kick ass with my dbb 6262 pte 2.3 stroker. kinda get this feeling that the tranny will explode since funds ran out since i have three project cars.

With 566 ftlbs of torque I will not be running slicks anytime soon what it does at the track on street tires is just what it does I repeat this is my daily driver that is why I stayed with the small BC272 as well as the jdm cyclone The car is a monster on the streets and a killer on the expressway all at the same time getting excellent gas mileage!

If he puts slicks on the car making that power you can say bye bye to the transmission. I'd go automatic if running the 1/4 mile at this power level was my thing. Then your talking a whole other project.WTF


Kels has stated clearly this is a daily driven streetcar. He knows theres plenty of power still left there on the table. 700+ at the crank hp in a ffwd.. I mean how much more power does he need? Why should he use slicks or a monster mani or even bigger cams if hes making all this power and driving the car daily on the streets Unless hes gonna make the car a dyno queen or constantly run the half mile or mile the car obviously makes plenty of power to make the car feel very much fun on the street and anywhere else as is. Im sure as the car is now setup he will obviously have plenty of kills under his belt! All just my. 02

Yeah the car was built not to drag race at all or I would have kept my awd. I like to piddle around with this project from time to time for it so relaxing to do something else with my hands other than woodwork but in the interim I somehow got caught up in trying to catch some dyno record. I have run at the track in the past and love the thrill of racing but everytime I have been I see people break stuff especially on dsm's making lots of power mostly on drag cars that's in competition and on street cars trying to drag with slicks the other guys like me who drive their cars to the track and run the car the way they drove it to the track are the ones who drive back home with no issues. The half mile event is something I am definitely going to enter next year when it comes back to Atlanta for this year it is all sold out. Its going to be interesting to see what the car will do in the 1/2 mile speed wise

If you dont plan on racing it at the track thats fine. All I was saying is if you run on the track with street tires with 600whp it would be a total waste of time IMO. As far as it breaking with slicks on, you would be surprised that it actually helps you not break parts on a fwd on the track. Wheel hop will destroy a transmission and slicks eliminate that totally. Would love to see what numbers it would put down on the track too.

Yup! The sidewalls take a lot of shock that would otherwise go to hard parts.
