I am in the process of painting my valve cover. I have painted the whole cover with gloss black engine block paint. I want to paint the letters silver and was curious as to what paint to use. Does anyone think I could just use some Testors paint and brush it on? I would appreciate any help you guys have to offer.

I did the same. Painted my valve cover black, but you don't need to paint the letters silver. Just sand the black off the letters with something like 220 grit paper. Then wet sand with something like 400. Polish, and voila, shiny letters. :thumb:

I had the same idea but I figured I would accidently scratch the surface. how did you sand it? by hand?
