OK, I saw my first Ballistic turbo this weekend...awesome. It was the GTBB25, the most georgous thing I have ever seen under a DSM's hood. Now, the good part...FULL 26psi at 2900rpm!!! in a turbo that is suposed to handle around 460hp. I was talking to the owner and we decided I'll try the larger GTBB35 with the same head setup that he has but a larger 40mm wastegate instead of the 35mm one, we're thinking of full spool by 35-3700rpm (much like my ported and cliped 19C right now). So I won't notice a difference in spool time, but I'll have one nice turbo. I'm selling my current setup right now along with a few other things to finance this...anyone else with first hand experience want to give me a few pointers or things to look out for with these turbos?

If you can afford them their isn’t anything cooler right now than the GT Ballistic series turbos. The problem right now is the price 2k+ for the setup. From looking at your mile long sig it doesn’t look like you have a setup that is going to be able to handle that type of power so you may need to address some of those issues first.

Those are some brutal lag times what type of numbers have you been making with the 19c. A local guy is running 11.8@116 in his stock 7bolt block 2g. Have you had the same type of luck?

If you can be a bit more patient FP is going to introduce a GT30 turbo in a custom bolt on turbine housing that looks like its going to be a very nice unit. Pricing and ultimate power production have yet to be announced but it looks like it is going to make more power then their current red turbo while making more power that looks like a win win in my book.

I have a few things on my car not in my sig, but one thing I am in DESPERATE need of is a FMIC. Getting one of those with the turbo too.

Your friends luck mirror's mine. Although I am only running 21psi and 94 octane I am able to run with a local Z28 from a roll and his trap times are 118, so your friends 116mph trap time is right in line. I am about to shoot my tranny right now (can't shift to 2nd above 5000rpm), so I haven't run this car at the track. I've only had it since January 27th of THIS year (although this is my 4th 1g AWD). Oh yea, and I *DO* want to see how far a stock block 6bolt can go. I want to put it in the 11.1-10.9's without ever removing the head. That'll be a challenge.

Well, John has been running his GTBB25 for almost 6mo now, and if I remember right he doesn't use water and uses no turbotimer. I *do* remember for sure he uses no turbotimer and sayes he can hear the turbo spinning for over 60sec after he turns the car off (got to love the ball bearings). I could be wrong but I don't think he uses water.

If he doesnt have water lines on it, I doubt that it makes through the end of this year without going to turbo heaven.

Your runnin near an estimated 118 trap? Is this correct?
Just out of curiosity, what are these other mods not listed to be runnin that quick? By the looks of the mile long list with things such as BG, you'd have another mile list of parts.

Don't count on that. The GT35 is a big sucker, they spool from 4300-5000 depending on what turbine housing you use and if you get the large or small turbine wheel. The smaller GT30's are nice and spool under 4000 if done right.

DSM performance is selling the GT turbos with a mitsu 7cm housing so that it will bolt on. Give them a call they are available right now.

That is one sick turbo,
550bhp
54lb/min compressor
10blade GT30 Turbine Wheel
Full boost by 3500rpm all for $1350 Im still drouling
this is the turbo for me, is anyone on this list running one these.

Details please I havent heard anything about it but from the looks of it it looks like it will smoke a green and still spool fast enough for a street car. The AGP L2 looks pretty sick too.

that looks like what I might get after I get my car and start doing some work on it. My goal is to run mid 11's and this turbo oughtta get me there.

I'm still debating about the L2R. If I can find the money I may buy one.

I will have to call dsm-performance and check there's out.

Later,

I just installed a T3/T4 50 Trim.. and I cant imagine how the new ball bearing turbos must be like! I am very happy with my setup now..I am just waiting for my 2G filter, so that I can install the 2G MAS, and Dejon intake I have. :)

whats the price on those from extreme-turbo, i have been thinking about it for a while now. i still like the idea of the internal gate, and it seems extreme turbo is the only people using 39mm internals. i would like the make a couple passes with the ete32 then switch to a full ball bearing turbo. have you seen the porting from extreme turboOMG
