This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Quick instructions: Drill holes, Install plates, Install pins, Close hood and slide small pin through big pin. Check fitment and adjust as nesecary.

Most people drill the holes toward the center of the hood area. Check out L2RTsiAWD's pics.

install em' -- dont bother drilling a hole in the hood -- SLAM the hood down on top of the pins :D --- volia , insta-hole

This is where I am planning on installing mine this spring

w/o acualy ever doing it - and looking at that pic-- id have to guess those pins are using the holes left by removed rubber stoppers

I still wonder....do you mount the pins to a plate that is there from the bginning under the hood or do you mount a adapter somehwere..?Like a plate to make tha pins go out a little morew or....ya know?

There is a spot along the same support that the RAD supports hook into... Right at the very end of it... there is just enough space to drill a hole for them

Essentially ther is a bolt with a hole in the top for the pin to go through when your hood is closed... then the other end of that bolt is threaded where you then use two nuts to adjust the height of the bolt so that your pins will hold the hood tight...

You have to either find a hole on the frame/body etc that will fit the bolt or you have to drill new ones..

I just took up a hole next to the rubber distances that are in front under the hood, they are there to hold the hood up in front. About an inch on the inside of those I made a hole and put the pin in there.Think they look ok....pics will come next week.

u are wrong.. the holes from the stoppers are closer together.. trust me i know.. cause ive frucked up my hood today doing that.. now i think the pins may be too close together..

I think YOU are wrong on this one though..cause if you look at this pic you see the rubber stopper is pretty far out to the corners....

the only car I ever puthood pins on was my 67 mustang, what I did was drill two holes in the radiator support, put the bolts through, and the nuts to hold themin place(this was the hairpin style by the way, and after I found the distance I wanted them apart) then to mark the place on the hoodI needed to drill holes I took some marker that we usedfor writing on winshields at the auction and coated the top side of the pin studswith it, then I closed the hood gently and pressed it slightly against the hood pin studs so the marker paint came off on the underside of the hood, then I took off the hood, drilled the holes, installed the plates and voila, hoodpins(which I probably wouldnt have put on that hood except for the fact the latch was breaking off anyway, I'm sure with an eclipse it would be similar, although thinking of it, I wouldnt want to have to mess with it, the mustang was set up perfectly for hood pins with the radiator support where it was
