The Honda rider was traveling at approximately 85 mph. The VW driver was talking on a cell phone when she pulled out from a side street, apparently not seeing the motorcycle. The riders reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 20 feet from where the collision took place.

All three involved (two in the car and the bike rider) were
killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at
the Motorcycle Fair by the Police and Road Safety Department.

Think twice about using your cell while driving.

Saw that picture months ago. It's crazy on how shit does that.

yea a dumb blonde in my town pulled out in front of a motorcyclist and he didnt make it...kinda irrtating...i wish people would put driving before goofing around when their behind the wheel

Damn.

This is another reason I'm glad they made it illegal to talk or text while driving here in Oregon last year.

You can probably buff that out.

In all seriousness though, holy crap... That's why I never talk on the phone and drive, my mom has a serious problem with calling me and when I'm telling her I'm driving she starts asking me all sorts of questions. Now I just put my phone on silent when I drive. My wife gets pissed because she can't get a hold of me sometimes, but simply put, she can deal with it.

Me and my GF just got our motorcycle endorsement today and im going to pick up my 09 CBR600RR tomorrow. Thank makes me wanna think twice.

The best riders I know stopped street riding long, long ago because of near misses that could've easily ended like this. Unfortunately, I've known alot of guys who were not so lucky. Stuff like this is a good reminder of why I'll never have a bike. And yeah, get off the phone while driving!

Almost every single time someone is going 45mph on the freeway, not staying in their lane, stopped at a green light or cutting me off to the point of me having to hit the brakes hard I notice that they are talking on their cellphone.

No one sees a problem with the M/C rider doing 85 on a street where someone can pull out in front of you...

When on a street bike you should always be aware of your surroundings, yes the driver was on a cell phone and cut the rider off but the rider was also not in control and speeding apparently.

And I do ride a motorcycle myself but always expect someone will pull out or cut me off and ride defensively.

Exact reason I won't own a bike either....thought about it ### I coulda got a good deal on a 2004 r1 too

someone couldnt handle da 2 stroke powazzz

ride2die.com (nws) if you wimps on the fence about riding need some motivation to shy away...

Stuff like this is why I hate bikes...

2 years ago a motorcycle went head on into a log truck at the bottom of my driveway. Nastiest thing I've seen. The guy's fat was still ground into the pavement 6 months later and it would shine in the sun.

Last year a friend of mine was killed on his bike. Going too fast on a back road, crossed into the other lane and a truck was coming the other way. I wont go any further with this story ### it pisses me off too much...

I'll never own a bike, I try to talk all my friends out of it. My dad has one and I'm always trying to get him to get rid of it.

Saw this months ago. My work place post things like this to warn us I guess they care about us.
But yeah, I had a buddy from high school. Haven't heard from him in years. Later on found out he bought a bike. Few years later he got DUMB and tried to pull a trick while him and a couple of his buddies ride back from a cruise from the MOUNTAIN<---- clue, usually a windy area. Was a very strong wind gust and his bike flipped. He broke his neck to a point where only his skin was holding his head and body together. And yeah he was wearing a HELMET!
It takes real DISCIPLINE to ride a bike!

Make sure you look at the pictures at the bottom.

Every driver in the United States should have to be shown images like this on a regular basis if they operate a motor vehicle.

now thats just nasty.. you should put a " dont eat a hamburger/lasagne/Maccheese/etc before seeing this" tag on that link WTF

i'm another one of those "I love bikes but I'll never get one cause I don't want to end up splattered on the road somewhere".

LOVE them, rode on my buddy's gsxr600 alot, went as fast as 160 but i'll stick to my DSM :)

Id hate to have my mother see me in the state of one of those pics on that link posted.

For those who choose to ride, PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

OK damnit this is way way outta control.. yes I feel sympathy for the dead bikers but damnit riding is fun.. you leeches are making it sound like if you even start a bike you get creamed by a car.. RIDING IS FUN.

Riding is fun, but right there is the height of stupidity.

You're in the other lane, riding a wheelie (so you have no control of the bike's steering), unable to brake or steer quickly if anything were to approach.

See the van in the picture? What if that van were to turn out of it's driveway and into your lane? I don't know about you but anytime I'm making a RIGHT turn into directional traffic on a two-lane highway I never think to look to the right first to see if someone on a motorcycle would happen to be riding a wheelie oncoming in my lane.

Because of this video I want to put a rollcage in my SUV in the future. I know that'll add to the higher center of gravity, thus increasing the rollover percentage. But to protect those inside, I think it'll be worth it.

yeah itll be worth it until someone bonks their head on the cage in a rollover or any sort of collision and dies. or the messed up energy transfer from any sort of collision jacks you up.
