I took off the ugly talon spoiler and patch up the hoels with the some black ducktape :) I would really like to get some decet plug till i can fiberglass and bondo them in the spring. Any ideas on where to get em?

I went to a mitsubishi body shop and they told me 981 dollars just to fill my holes and repaint the pieces, and then I went to a Chrysler body shop and they told me 882 and those prices wasn't installing a new one or painting a new one. I found a guy around here that does for like 100 dollars full switch so I cant wait to put my turbo spoiler on at the end of the week!!

Did any of you actually read the guy's post??? He said he wants to know where he can get plugs to use UNTIL he has the money to patch the holes properly........

i did the same for awhile....advanced auto had soem good ones near the fastner section...about the size of a quarter....fillintg in those larger holes...my ghetto method was to get soem of that silver tape and bondo it, then paint it. it actually looked ok, but i didnt like the no-spoiler look

if you decide to keep the thumbnail spoiler off, can i buy the red reflector off ya? mine shattered magically.

Alrigh,
ive beed driving around way too long with ducktape circles over the holes :)

Some of you have used some kind of plugs to patch up the holes and i cant seem to find em anywhere. What exactly are these called and where can i get em?

I'm planing on getting my car painted black in the spring/summer and ill bondo and fiberglass that stuff, but till then i need those little plugs.

thanks

whoever has installed a a new spoiler and had a three pice stock spoiler could you please explain how to fill in the holes of the old spoiler.i know weld and bondo but how thick should the metal be and what kind of weld do i use, ect....

Seriously, I have no idea... :\

hahahah, it looks better on a black car, i took of my thumbnail and filled the hols with little palstic hole covers from the depot, painted em in like 5 coats of black they will sufice untill i have money to have the trunk lid done.... wow that bomex poiler is tight how wid is it

at the very min - ya wold have to REALLY ruff up the back (underside) use some fiberglass cloth soaked in polyester resin - apply a few layers - this will give a stable foundation -- then from the top side fill that with polyester ( ya just pour it in or brush in on ) then knock down the high spots, come back and fill with some bondo- FYI: polyester is also known as duraglass/fiberglass. if you didnt do somthing to make a foundation -- and just used bondo it would fall out -- if you make a foundation and still use to much bondo it will shrink over time and you will be able to see the outline of the hole --- this method would work for filling anything -- doors handels/holes/anntea hole etc.. of course the BEST method would be welding a piece of sheet metal to the bottom and filling it in with 'weld' then grinding the weld down smooth -- or 'leading' the hole but most people dont have accsess to most things need'd for this method

wow. in that statement right there, you just pushed out all the algebra 2 knowlege that i once had. u a$$ hole.

<-- im still trying to make sense out of that -->

anyways, it will stick to metal fine -- still ruff the paint up (inside the hole, a little of the back and a little on the top) it wont stick to clear coat at all :p

how are you suppost to get underneath the hatch?when you remove the plastic panel their is still metak preventing you from reachin where the holes are and how do you get underneath for the ones on the side panels

This summer - if all goes well, I'm buying a 95 GSX. I plan on buying the Rdora front bumper and replacing the rear bumper with the 97 one. However i don't like the 95 spoiler, in fact i don't like spoilers all together so i want to get rid of the 95 one. My question is: How can i fill in the holes the spoiler bolts leave? And how many holes are there? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

think he spoiler ies just glued on,u just hae to polish away the rest of the crud thats left behind. but im not sure if its bolted on,i doubt it.

Not sure on how many holes there, i'm thinking about 12, but they need to be welded over
