Its pretty sad the little things that make me happy... but I finally found and am buying a DSM!!! A 1991 Plymoth Laser with 191,000 miles!!! It's got a totally blown clutch. It says its an RS but it has a tubo that looks to be stock

haha.. great find man i remember when i got my first dsm i was so happy and i will keep mine till i have a place for it which i don't see my self selling it for a lonnng time..
I can get a used clutch if you want..
 
i'd be up for used if its in good shape. i'm assuming the clutch job on this car will be a lot easier then my mitsu starion rwd.

it would be funny if all it was was low hydrolic fluid :)

didn't get a chance to look that far into it yet.

anyone have carfax access? if so let me (PM) know if you'd be willing to run the vin for me.

a little concerned that I didn't see any turbo badges, but the turbo was there and sounded ok, and the stock gauge was operational. the oil gauge didn't seem to be working :sosad:
 
just like mine. Color, year, and everything. Mine had the gold mesh rims though. got mine for 500 but it had 84K miles (yes 84,000), balance shafts removed, new oil pump, all bearings, front case and timing components. timing had jumped a few teeth. new exhaust valves later and she's running like new. AC is ice cold and everything

the RS is the turbo version of the Laser. My 94 Laser had sticker on the fenders that said "TURBO INTERCOOLER" on top of the other. My 91 doesn't have it but it's been repainted

paid $250 for it.

idles surges a little bit. when i take the oil cap of it stops surging.

where s the best spot of jackstands on these?

the clutch does nothing. will pull the slave cylinder / servo and check it out.

some oil seepage from the valve cover. car came with a new vc gaset.


definatly exhaust leak around the manifold / turbo.

whats the best thing to use to paint th heat shield these look a little corroded?


dont feel obligated to answer these questions im mainly thinking outloud. will post more pics later.
