Some of you might have heard about what I have been doing lately, after months and months of not being able to make up my mind about my 4g63 mirage I finally figured out a plan for it. I set myself a goal for a 9.99 second pass. This project has really picked up some steam due to the generosity of Aaron at midget flash. Midget gave me a garrett gt38 the other night, and that night project budget nine was created.

I have the long block out of RRev’s old race dsm, the block itself is unusable do to a ripped off ear that connects the engine to the transmission. So in the next week or two I will be buying a 6 bolt bare block from Lucas English by way of Jeff Bush. The block will be going to the machine shop and then will be reassembled by,, the block will have eagle rods, wiesco pistons, arp main studs, arp head studs, and arp rod bolts. The head will be disassembled and cleaned then Nick Drake will be porting it for me. After the port job crower springs and retainers will go back in, until I pick up some kiggly beehive valve springs. I have a set of hks 272’s that I am going to be selling, and I am going to be picking up 4 sets of hard face regrinds, a set of 280’s, 290’s, 300’s and a set of custom midget flash cams. This car will never see the street so streetablity is not an issue. With the gt 38 me Jake ( my bestfriend / lead tech for the project) and Aaron have been talking about different ways to control boost, free boosting, has been brought up but nothing is for sure, and ideas would be appreciated

I am going to have Art Morrison make me a cage, In the next few week or so when I get the car back I will be stripping it completely in preparation for the cage. I traded a 1g shell to a friend for labor to install the cage and have his friend make my side exit exhaust. I still need to figure out what I am going to do for the exhaust manifold and the o2 housing, it looks like JR from ets will be making it for me. . For the intake manifold I am trying to score a venom with a q45 and direct port nitrous, I have the complete nitrous kit except for a jet that I got from midget in a trade for a boost controller.

I am going to be going with an auto transmission, I have been talking to tom from rrev about it, I have picked up a 2g auto and a 9 inch billet ipt converter from him. I have already ordered the kiggly adapter from ipt, and still need to order the rebuild kit and a shift kit.

I am going to be having Lucas English of English racing do my tuning by way of maft translator, to dial in timing Matt Ahl has offered to supply any chips that are needed.

For fuel I will be using 1600cc injector an aeromotive afpr, and an aeromotive a1000, and a 1 gallon fuel cell

I am getting hooked up with rotas for the rear from a friend , The fronts are a set of one off weld rims weight in at 8 pounds each supplied my midget flash. The suspension will also be custom done my midget flash with help from a few of his close friends

Kyle from midnight motorsports is donating the radiator and fans to this project as well

I would like to thank everyone who is involved in this project, there has been a ton of you who have donated time, parts, labor and ideas to this project, this couldn’t be happening with out all of you.

Hoping to be hitting some 9 second passes next year at the seattle boti and the shootout

I have an Ostrich if you want to use it for dialing in the tune (I actually just want to be around when it's on the dyno : D.

Damn, I wish I had friends like that. I'm trying to do mine on a budget, but I have much slower goals, and much slower parts.:(

If anyone wants to donate so I can start the 'Budget Project 11's" that would be great.LOL

Normally, if you're going to drop names like that, you contact Chris and become a supporting member. With that said, good luck.

tried to fix it, but i think it loses a little this way:D

Sounds like a helluva project.
Why the auto trans - are you saying it's gonna be a hot shift kit?
How much you selling those 272s for?

with the deal i got on the trans and converter, plus i will be able to put it together with the help of a friend, i will have a tranny that will stand up to 9 seconds passes for cheaper then a clutch that could hold up to 9 second passes

the $272 might all ready be spoken for, but im not sure yet, pm me an offer if you are really interested

HUH????
...you have to become a supporting member to tell who will be building a cage and doing tuning and stuff???

So Im going to get in trouble if I say... I'm going to have JohnDow install my FMIC, and get a motor built & installed by AMS, and get suspension done by UberGoober???

Are you saying that a regualr DSMtuner member, has to PAY to be able to say who does work on there cars????

Dude all I can say is DAMN!!! OMG
It sounds like you are going to have way to much fun with this. :thumb: :thumb:

Thats gonna be a sweet ride when its done Billy!:thumb:

My car has gone a best of 11.76 @ 119.55mph with my Pina Motorsports stock rebuild engine built by Andre Santose. The Forced Performance 3065 Turbo and AEM EMS was also installed by Andre at Pina Motorsports. My custom 3inch exhaust was made by dummy dumm dumm that is great at making sharp non flowing bends, but has a great sounding Magnus Muffler on the end. The AEM EMS was tuned by Steve Bailey!!

THANKS STEVE of Auburn! ...awesome tunning on that Dyno Dynamics Dyno dude!!:thumb: All my raw HP is put to the ground through my Shepherd Racing Stage 4 transmission with 4 spider diff, and its transfers to my new PTT Twin disk set-up, and is sooo light and frast REVing!!!! I cut good 60ft times with my cheap $60 HanKook 205 tires on my stock Eagle Wheels. Oh and I can't forget the new sweet 4" FMIC that Andre and Steve installed

Thanks for trying, but sorry I still dont get it.

Are'nt we all member already? Or do you mean we have to be a paying member, or supporting vendor?

I just want to know why we need to talk to Chris before we say stuff like.... where we got parts from, and who made them, and who put them together, and who tuned something???

can i get the same pm? i am confused about why i cant say who is going to work on my car and what products i am using... but its ok for people to have a modlist that says what kind of parts they have, not trying to be a bi*** i just dont understand what the problem is

picked up the aeromotive a1000 today, i got an fittings and ss lines with it for free, plus i got some slicks mounted on 14's, and an hks 50ml wastegate donated to the project this week, looks like i might get the car done on time at this rate

Just for other references, that breaking doesnt mean the block is no good.
The ear of the block can be rewelded.. Happened to me before, the front ear snapped off due to horribly bad motor mounts which made me want prothanes but i ended up just doing the window weld trick which works for the meantime...I got the ear rewelded back onto the block/ and the motor mount bracket that connects to the block. Just means that I cant unbolt that bracket off of the block now since its held in by the weld also.. That thing has been holding up every since with no issues. At least holding up on a 12 sec street car..... ;)

Good luck with your project 9s, i think it will work out well with your plans.
