In leiu of all of the BC cams and videos out there, I just got my 6bolt running with a pair of FP2 cams installed. For those who are looking for a nice cammed idle, but not the lumpy tone of a HKS/BC/crower/etc cam, FP2's are AWESOME! In comparison, they don't really idle any different than my stock cams.

Also, to keep this tech related, in the beginning of the video you can hear the high pitched whine of my BB5031RLE. I don't know if it's because of the new motor, the fact that the turbo hasn't been ran in about 2 months, or the new feed location, but the whine is MUCH louder now than it was before on my stock 7 bolt and feed from the OFH. Please disregard all of the other noises AFTER i step away from the engine bay ROFL I'm still getting those ironed out.

IDLE specs - 900 RPM, 14-15 hg vac, 2.0L .020 Ross/Eagle 6 bolt, balanced crank, stock 1g head, FP2 cams (dropped straight in), stock cam gears, JMF SMIM, 2.5" Magnaflow turboback.

TURBO specs - Bought from SBR, PTE BB5031RLE, previously ran from the OFH and now switched to the head for oil feed with an earl's inline filter.

Discussions welcome. Speaking to other members about the BB whine, I believe the whine is due to the stock water lines that were used. Some have reported that the whine disappeared with the use of the PTE water lines.

***In case anyone ends up searching this again*** The ball bearing whine (or I thought it was) turned out to be a leaking type - s. After I tightened the adjustment screw down, the whine went away.

And.. the reason that started this whole fiasco  100-160-160-160 compression (40k miles stock 7bolt), due to the "one-stutterbox-too-many" mod.

Did you bleed down your lifters? Are they tapping a little? I bled mine down and soaked them in brake parts cleaner for a week while the head was at the machine shop and the tapped for a little while when I first started the car, but went away when they filled up. Those cams idle super smooth! Sleeper, FP2's are some potent cams, they can clow away 272's. I wonder if they will get a little more bumpy later... I have heard alot of other FP2 cars and the had some lope.

Lookin good, Tom. Everything is coming along nice.

What exactly happened to the 7bolt block? Are the crank and bearings still good? This is BigT, btw, from njdsm. Let me know and i might pick it up from ya. Gonna build me a 7-bolt. hehe

I also wonder if the idle will change once the motor is broken in a little more. Oh, no bleeding of the lifters and they don't tap, yet LOL

T, I haven't had a chance to open her up yet, since I've been tryin to get the bi*** running. I'll let you know in about a week or two, but from the looks of it, the cylinder walls are still OK but there is light scoring in the problem cylinder. If you want it, I'll let it go for a good price.
