I'm about to drop the big 600$ come monday and get Dsmlink, the car has some problems which i can't seem to fix, i'm guessing it needs a good tune, but that's just my guess.
Would problems such as fuel cut and hesitation @ launch be fixed with this great utility?

I just installed T-clamps and silicone couplers all over my IC piping, and the only leak i have is the turbo seals.

So since everyone recommends getting dsmlink i'm hoping to this week, but a friend of mine suggested i take the 600$ and go to AMS(30 minutes away) and have them tune it for me....

Any suggestions guys? Is it user friendly?
Also, how exactly does the no-lift-to-shift work, basically you can hold the gas down and push in the clutch without burning it?

And another question, if i setup launch control, would i have to carry the laptop with me everywhere i drive??

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

do you run a maf translator and gm 3 inch maf? i have had several cars with translators pass through my shop that idle like crap. gm maf sensors arent the most accurate things. i would recommend a better tuning solution and your issues will most likely resolve themselves.

no-lift -to shift is a secondary rev limiter that is triggered my your clutch pedal switch. whe you push the clutch even with your gas pedal fully depressed it will institute a rev limiter at lets say 6k rpm and as soon as you release the clutch, your motor will once again be able to rev to redline. its a pretty neat feature.
if you setup launch control, again it is just a secondary rev limiter that runs off the clutch pedal switch.

the only time you would need a laptop would be to adjust the limit either higher or lower depending on your driving style or your cars response to certain rpm launches. once you get it where you want it, dont worry about it.

Not running any sort of tuning device right now, was under the impression that dsmlink was the ultimate utility so i didnt buy a GM Maf or a wideband o2 sensor and SAFC.

Basically stock internals, 3" exhaust w/ DP no cat, FMIC w/ 2.5" IC piping, unchopped MAF... and ever since i installed the exhaust i've been getting fuel cut up the ass at any RPM, and if and when it doesn't cut, the engine sounds like it wasn't to explode out the bay, that's how loud it is, i'll record a sound clip, since it doesn't sound very good.
So DSMLink is the best I can do? And maybe after i get that and still have problems, i can take it to AMS or Y2kPerformance?

DSMlink is great. If you get that car in the 9's that would be the only time to upgrade from DSMlink. You 2g maf should be good for almost 500whp, after that the gm maf would be a good upgrade.

Also you still need a wideband o2 with any tuning device you get. You need it to make sure you have a nice fuel curve or you can take it to a dyno.

With your fuel cut you must have a boost leak and a big one. The 2g maf cuts way later than the 1g maf, and if you are pulling in more air through the maf to make the same boost you can over run it and get fuel cut.

Are you venting your BOV? Cause that could be your problem. I have a Maft and a GM MAS with allmost the same mods and my car runs great. Good luck. Peace.
