Find yourself having trouble paying the $35 for The Symborski Shifter Kit. It is great but can be had for much cheaper.
What you need:
Drill
Vise or vise grips
8mm drill bit (5/16)
(4) 5/32x7/8 and (16) 1/4x1-1/4 fender washers from Lowes or home depot
12mm socket
Flat screwdriver
1. Start off buy unbolting the shifter plate.
2. Pry out the inner sleeve with a flat blade screwdriver. Then the same with the bushing.
3. Now your ready to make some bushings.Your going to use 4 large washers and 1 small washer in place of each bushing. One at a time put them in the vise and drill a hole that equals the diameter of the bolts (5/16 is close).
4. Now stack three of the large washers under the plate. Use a bolt to line it up then pull it back out. The easy was is to put the Last big washer on the bolt followed by the small one. Put it through the top wiggling it as you go. Just start to thread it in.
5. Repeat 3 more times and then when all are in place tighten all the bolts. Now try to wiggle the plate!.
