Hey, some guys at AF and I are planning regional DSM meets this summer. I am getting started on the one for the midwesterners. Who all would be in? It would probably be a one or two day thing, and we would probably try to rent out a track for a day, have a swap meet, maybe a huge collective DSM cruise, and maybe a car show. I'm not sure yet, but if anyone has any suggestions please dont hesitate to throw them out at me. Thanks guys.

Ok thanks man. We are planning on late june/early july for this to happen, probably in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I dont know how much their track will cost to rent but the more people that come, the cheaper it will be for everyone. Come on Minneapolis/St Paul area, Chicago area, and Wisconsin DSMer's we need some support!

theres a LOT going on around that time.I'd probably be down for this, depending on all the other events. like i said earliier... this will be one heck of a summer full of DSM events around the area! make sure you check out the RRTL event in late July too! details on www.DSMSupport.com

Ok, thanks man. I will keep you and everyone here updated as soon as I have updates to give. Is the end of July any less busy? Would that be a better time? We definately dont have any set plans yet so if there would be a better time, attention would definately be given to that. Thanks guys. Any one else?

end of July is the Rally 'Round The Lake event. July 28th-30th

how about middle May or late August? i know those are extremes, but it would space out the summer events quite nicely

Middle May would ensure a big turnout, or an event in the fall. If it's too close to the shootout, people won't come.

Ok thanks guys. When/where is the shootout? May kinda puts the squeeze on getting things organized plus I am pretty busy in May. Early to mid August would work, but I dont want to interfere with colleges starting so we couldnt go too late in August. What about mid July?

Well, I have to see about the track, where we can meet, and roughly how many are going, but I figured a day and a half or so. Probably start the car show/swap meet/cook out/hang out in like the middle of the day on Day 1. After all that, maybe a cruise around town, then either back to the meeting place or to our hotels, then we would go to the track the next day. The Tristate track in Iowa got back to me, but not with prices. I still havent heard from Rockfalls. I'll keep you guys updated.

The Shootout is August 13, according to the NRP schedule I got in the mail.

I'm game too. I think if it's that far north the chicago people should meet somewhere and go as a group.
