Hey guys,

I have a talon tsi with a t3/t4 60 trim at 16psi. I just got the car and don't know much about dsms. unfortunately the car came with 450cc injectors... yeah...:notgood: :notgood:

I would like to know what injectors would be good for my application. I do want to push the boost a little higher on better fuel. The car has an s-afc. after searching a bit i have found that 650s are the limit for the afc otherwise the correction goes out of whack. Could i go with 720ccs on an safc and stock mas which i think is hacked?

I was looking at some fic injectors and since the whole line up is at $280 at the moment i was thinking of grabbing a set.

The car also tends to stutter at about 5900 rpms. I haven't really pushed it beyond that because i don't want anything to break. Otherwise the car pulls really smooth and hard all along the rev range . I do have a datalogger ordered and hopefully it can shed some light on what the car is doing up in the revs.

Thanks in advance

Your studder at 5900 rpm is probably fuel cut. I would get some 650's. Actually the SAFC can tune 650's but it really is only meant for 550's and below. As far as running a 60-trim at 16psi. You are very far out of the efficency range of the turbo. I would have gone with something smaller if that is all you are going to run for now. To get the full potential of it you will need 720's at least and some sort of good tuning device like DSMLink or a standalone like AEM EMS.

650s sweet. I would have gone for something smaller too but remember i didn't build this car.. i just bought it a week ago with all the stuff done to it.

Can i go with 650s without dsmlink or some other standalone? Is 20psi safe with good fuel quality and 650s?

I dont really want to push the car over 400whp.

btw its a 2.3l stroker motor., boost comes on at 4kish. I'm building a boost leak tool as we post.

my bov is also vented to atmosphere. This could be why the fuel tends to cut.

However this could only happen if the bov was leaking insanely... hmmm

Umm, recirc the BOV, heh should run a little better. If you dont have the rubber hose for it, im sure any hardwhere/homdepot/lowes/anything, would have one, just look around and get one in there!:thumb:

ahh gotcha, i do have a few questions.

The bov looks like this:

how the hell do i vent this back into a charge pipe?:)

also do i make a small hole in the pipe and weld on a little piece that i can recirc it back on?

This is true.

You could also get a keydriver chip to do your injector compensation duties while retaining the safc for your tuning. Many people swear by the safc/logger/chip combo and have gone really fast with it.

Here is a link for one.

Oh damn that is sweeeet!!!

Very nice! thank you!

I'm thinking stage 3 is the one for me.. I'm also assuming it just clicks into the stock ecu, no skill of any kind needed. so many sweet little features wow!

With the keydiver programmed for 750 FICs can i still use the afc to tune the car well?

otherwise i think i pretty much got it.

Good question. Many people over compensate with larger injectors to make room for more horsepower in the future. However, if you do not have anything to restrict/control the amount of fuel you are puting into your motor besides the fuel pump, injectors, and stock regulator (I havent read your profile) you may want to invest in some fuel system upgrades; ie. AFPR, SAFC, larger fuel pump, etc... Or else you may not be supplying your injectors enough fuel.

Click this link, estimate the Horsepower you think you make now and what you want to make in the future and average them together. Then use the charts to help pick the size of the injector you should use. 650cc should be good for you.

Oh hey man... sorry i forgot some major details

the car has a b&m fuel pressure regulator and a 255lph fuel pump. it also has an safc which i haven't completely mastered yet.

Thanks for the link bud... yeah i agree 650 should be sufficient. I dunno i'm thinking about 750s for 20-23psi. hmmmm. The car isn't really a daily driver.. more a sort of weekend monster type of thing.

Ok here i go with FIC 750s, safc, keydriver chip, logger, 255lph, B&M fpr, any last objections:) thumbs up, thumbs down?

Ditch the B&M regulator. The reason to get a AFPR with a 255 pump is because it will ovverun your stock regulator causing you lots of problems. The reason for stock fpr overrun is because the return orifice on the fpr is too small to bleed off the excess fuel generated by a bigger pump like the 255. The B&M command Flo modifier does not replace the return orifice and the result will still be the same. In addition, it can only raise pressure and not lower it. Pick yourself up an aeromotive or variant. Be sure to get a gauge if you deceide to piece it together instead of buying a kit. Here is a link for a popular kit that supplies everything you would need.

Hey Guys. Not trying to change the subject. but i got my new injectors today and they are pink top injectors with INP-060 and bdh182 stamped on them. I got them off ebay from a place out in washington. However they are suppose to be 550cc injectors.... Does anyone have anything verify what they are. Thanks and Happy Tuning
