I just installed my MAFT the other day and I thought this could be a good thread to help others tune thier translators with if we all list or version, settings, and possibly mods. I accidently ripped my logger cable so I gotta get that fixed before i can start more tuning.(not that it matter too much now anways since im waiting for this shitty Wisconsin weather to be over with before I drive my car again.) Anyways, after the install I turned up the idle on the throttle body and richened up the idle control on my translator to get it to idle right. well, here are my current setting that I will probably be changing once I get my logger going.

MAFT version= 2.02
Injectors= 450(stock)
MAS= 3" GM
Aux= 0
Base= 2
idle = 2 (+10)
mid = 0
wot = 0

Hate to burst your bubble. But everyones settings are going to be unique. No one has absolutely the same car.

:shhh: your ruining my dream! haha
yea, I know that, but I figured it could help other people with similar set ups see what others are running. And yes, I also know that 2 cars with the exact same mods could be running differnt settings. But whatever, if its a dumb idea then i guess its a dumb idea.

Just leave it zero'd out tilll u get the logger working agian... I'm sure it'll be close enough to where it would be save to just drive around w/o beating on the car.

screw it, mods, you might as well delete this thread.

No, don't delete this thread!

DSMCamaro read this thread, it tells you what you need to set your dials to for your size injectors and so far you haved it slightly wrong.

http://www.fullthrottletech.com/showthread.php?t=105

I set my AUX to 4 and my base to 2 like it says, and added 1 click to all of the other dials, just for good messure. I had SAFC2 and a logger but I sold them so those settings will have to work for me until DSMLink arrives (this weeeeeek) =)

No, see you dont get it, Im NOT asking for help. I know i need to get my logger cable fixed before I can start making the correct adjustments on my translator.(no big deal, since im not driving my car yet anyways, wait for the snow to melt) I also have the owners manual that came with my 2.02 MAFT and I haver read everything on this site that i could find about it. The reason I started this thread is becuase I thought if everyone just listed their setting and what they have, it could possibly help other people with simialar settings and/or just be an interesting way to see what settings other people are running. I basically just posted mine as an example of what I thought others would post their setting like.

btw, you have a 2g, im a 1g, so my base injector settings are correct.

I think this thread would be good because I was recently told that people using blow through set ups have drastically different settings than draw through people.

as it stands, Im looking at:
aux=0
base=2
idle=+25%
mid=-10%
wot=-20%

apparently when you use it in blow through, the base settings are way off, so using 0,0,0... won't work. I hit fuel cut like NONE OTHER, and my o2 on a wot pull with everything zero'ed read .93v, still have to see how the car likes these settings. sure would help if I didnt have an exhaust leak at the manifold.

Mine are all set on zero's but I have turned the richness up with the S-AFR at idle to help it alittle. so basically the same as turning the idle dial on the maft

thank you.

Bringing this back simply because I thought the original Idea was good intentioned... to help others with basic (safe) settings and compare with their own setups...

EvoIII 16g @ 15psi, 450cc, 190lph, MAFT blow thru, FMIC, 3" Turboback Exhaust, stock FPR
I had:
Aux 0, Base 2 (450cc injector setting)
Idle = -5%
Mid = 0%
Hi = 10%

I was hitting fuel cut badly (running too rich) timing was 18~20 degrees, and O2's somewhere in the 93~95V
After a few tuning runs I changed that to
Aux 0, Base 5 (480cc injector setting) to get the whole A/F curve lean a bit
Idle = -5%
Mid = 0%
Hi = 0%

Im still running rich, but in a more conservative (safer) way, timing is a steady 18 degrees, you see at nights the car pulls great, but in daytime well strong but a bit rich, so thats why I decided to stay there.

Ivanr4g63- thank you, glad to see some people got the point.

My current settings.
Base= 2 (450's)
Idle = 6 (+30)
Mid = 6(+30)
WOT = C (-20)

55-60 degree weather on average. stock 14B, stock 450's, warblo 190, blow thru, version 2.02.

Low fuel trims is usally still a little lean, but not the worst. (100%-130%)
Mid fuel trim is moderately lean 115%.
High fuel trim is close to 100%.

your tune w/ the maft should change everyday (if you tune for performance). I suppose you could have a conservative tune and leave it alone, but that's up to you. I lean all of my trims out as much as possible before I have knock. I piss with the cas sometimes too, but I usually leave it pretty advanced. Temp changes make the maft tune vary greatly. My race gas tune is way different than my pump tune also (pump tune sucks dilsnick @ 20psi) Racing I run 25-26psi on 14b. Lotsa hot air. Good for consistent 12's.

Usually on pump highs are 0, mids are 6, and lows are 0.

Race tune highs are sometimes as low as -5, mids are down to 2, and lows may go to -2.

Damn, Im going to a dyno session this month and Im probably going to get some 100 octane and go for the 300 hp mark just like you. what psi were you running when you hit 321? I remember your thread, but can't find it exactly. I was the newb who posted about the torque being different because of the lack of tires or something. I dunno, that was a while back. I still have the stock exhaust manifold (unlike you) and its got a crack in it, but I don't think its big enough to hold me back a LOT. (obviously it will do some damage to my spoolup, but once I'm in the higher hp range I should be pushing out enough exhaust that my wastegate will be open and gases will be flying out the crack as well, so the peak power shouldn't change much.) The stock o2 housing will take its toll though... I think thats about all the performance mods that are drastically different between us. 100 octane on 23 psi with timing at like 21 degrees (don't really have a choice as I don't have any means to tune it and since Im pulling so much air with my gm maf the ecu has me at such high ignition timing that I knock like crazy at 22 psi, and the stock o2 housing is causing me to creep like a mo fo with no cat or muffler.) should put me at over 280 hp I would think. Then again, We are just going to have to wait and find out...

edit: your turbine housing will also rock my turbine housings ass probably. I hope mine isn't cracked, but its a 6cm^2 stock one...
