Is any one using one of these? They say that they flow better then a 2g and a Evo mani and for 169$ i think i might take the risk. Im gettin about 1400$ back for income taxes in a week or two. I was also gonna get a full 3" Apexi N1 dp and catback, and a joe p mbc with autometer boost gauge with pillar. Any suggestions for the other 500$ i was thinking of saving it and gettin the fuel kit from extreme PSI for 600 comes with 550's walbro pump and SAFCII. My motor for the most part is stock, I just had all new gaskets and seals put in and the balance shafts removed.

Any suggestions will be appreciated :rocks:

i just might have to go that route but i really would like to turn the boost up, so i might just save for that whole kit but im not sure if it comes with the oring for the injectors and if i get the 255lph pumps i'll also need a AFPR right?

Yes, if you get a a walbro 255 you def need a afpr because you will overrun your stock fpr. I know alot of people would disagree, but you should even get one with a walbro 190.

Import Evolution sells a aeromotive afpr and install kit; including everything you need to install the aeromotive and directions for $195. Its a nice kit, I am going to buy mine next week.

I bought a GT manifold not to long ago. I haven't installed it yet but it looks great. You can get it for $145 from turbochargers.com

Thanks for all the input. The reason i want to get the fuel kit with the 255 instead of the 190 cause im just thinking of the future and wanted to upgrade to a 50 trim either a
SBRG50 or a AGP RS49. and i dont want to buy a 190 and have to upgrade later.

Also if i get that mani i'd have to get a new manifold gasket right? i think the one on turbochargers.com says 7cm2 gasket.
-ADAM-:talon:

Yes you will have to get the turbo to manifold gasket and get the 7cm one also you may want to get the head to manifold gasket and make sure that you can get or do get the studs because you will more than likely break one or more. Good luck.

Yes def get new studs while you are at it. Don't forget to put some anti-seize on them so they don't get stuck on you, if you ever try to take it off later on.

You'll get all the gaskets you need if you buy the gt manifold. You get both the 7cm gasket and the head to manifold gasket. You also get the required bolts, nuts, and studs.

why is the SBR one so much better? is it ported more? is it really worth the extra $??

I also have an EVO GT manifold. The build quality looked great and as far as the size difference between the 1G manifold, theres no comparrison. Look:

You can clearly see how much larger the runners and openings are on the EVO GT manifold. The outlet is already set to fit a 7cm gasket. I had to port the heck out of my 14b to match the opening. I went from the stock inlet on the left to the ported inlet on the right in order to match the gasket and opening of the EVO GT manifold.

For the money I would say its pretty hard to beat. I'd like to see an actual in-depth comparrison between the SBR manifold (which I'm sure is top quality) and the EVO GT. Maybe someone who has access to both can get some measuremnts and possibly an internal volume reading for us.

CanadianTSI is running a 50 trim turbo at 22psi with a 190 fuel pump. Unless you plan on rebuilding your engine with strong internals to run 30psi of boost, I don't think you need a 255 pump for a 50 trim turbo.

Nice manifold!

Do you really need that manifold??

Sure it will help a bit with spool time, but it might not be the best way to spend your money at the moment. If your 1g is cracked and in need of replacement anyways, then by all means go for it, but if its not then I'd reconsider.

Heres what Id do if I was getting $1400, and had a near stock 1g;

-First of all do any maintanence that needs to be done, if you dont know how to check everything then take it to a reputable DSM shop around your area, and have them take a peak at it, usually for a small fee.

Upgrade your fuel system.

-Lets say a 255lph pump and re-wire it, $150

-Injectors of your choice, depending on what turbo your going to want to run in the future.
$250

-An Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator with install kit, $200

-Eprom ECU and DSMLink, about $800.

This will be a very solid setup for a good amount of power.
And then start saving up for a nice turbo upgrade and exhaust.

Just a thought,

Thanks for all the replies.

That manifold is awesome looks great. Also nice porting job :thumb: how long did that take you? I would like to go with the DSMlink but i dont have the money for that and get a laptop.

I talked to a guy on here and he wants to sell me a TRE ported O2, GVR4 fuel pump and the Import evolution afpr kit for like 200$ together. sound like a good deal?

once again thanks for all your help?

i have a datalogger coming in the mail right now and with the fuel pump (rewired) and the afpr is it safe to turn up the boost to about 17psi with the stock injectors or should i wait and and get injectors and safc first?

Well with a fuel pump, afpr, exhaust, you should be able to turn the boost to 16 psi no problem. Not sure about 17 psi, but slap the logger on there, and if everything looks good at 17 psi then you should be alright.
