i have a t3/t4 set-up with a external wastegate , can i for packing reasons mount my external wastegate 6 inches after my turbo in my downpipe?

i was told i could , but not to sure if it would work?
if i did mount it 6 inches after the turbo, maybe it would just add a few extra psi of boost ,,,, i.e. if i had a 15 psi spring in my external wastegate it would then boost to say 17 psi cause it's mounted so far after the turbo???

thanks

Uh... do you have any idea what a wastegate does? Once the air has gotten past the turbine wheel, its too late to use a wastegate...

NO!

Whoever told you this is someone you should never take advice from again, at least on turbo related subjects. Like already said, the purpose of a wastegate is to control boost by redirecting air flow in order to bypass the turbine, how will this work if you put it after the turbine?

Hopefully he means he is mounting it 6 inches away from the O2 housing's wastegate port, which is not recommended but could still work... Doesn't make much sense though does it?? It would be very cramped there....
