My plans for my car are at least 400 awhp. I am currently building a 6bolt i got a deal on some big 1g rods, and i had the 2g pistons from my old 7bolt. So i am using that set-up. I plan on running a 255 fuel pump, afpr, and 660cc injectors with a chip and AFC or dsmlink (if i can afford it). I was wondering which turbo would be best for my setup. I have read several articles about this and i plan to run at the track about every weekend if i can. If thats helps. also i was planning to use the SBR *new* cast manifold with the 38 mm tial wastegate. So i would like to hear the opinions of some more experienced dsmers.

Thanks, Ben

Edit: I plan on keeping this set-up for about 4 years, and then goin with the stroker.

I would second the FP turbo maybe a 3052. Hard to beat the reliability of their bolt on turbos and they will get you to your hp goals.

yeah, when your looking at two different turbos that are that different always go with the bigger one. especially if your planning to go stroker sometime down the road. trust me when i tell you that you wont be happy with a setup for 4 years :D you may have a little more lag but the top end of that turbo is all sorts of wicked badness over the 50 trim when tuned.

I like the sound of that. :thumb:

If your aiming for 400 awhp then I hope your not on too much of a budget. All this stuff adds up fast. I just got my Agp RS49 a couple weeks ago. I also ordered the new SBR manifold,Tial wastgate, AFC, injectors, ported o2 housing, intake pipe, etc. Im up to 3 grand on the credit card now I believe. Im not expecting 400 awhp either.

after reading ALOT more info i have come to think that 660's wont be enough. i am goin to run 93 pump (one of the 3 things i like about indidna). or am i wrong could i get 400 awhp on 660's?

yes you can. a lot of DSMers are on here think huge inj. = huge power. which is not always the case.

I was running 85% injector duty on my 60-1 at 22/23 psi on pump. Nice turbo! Spools almost as quick as the 50 trim but has 20% more power potential. mark

its obvious if youre comparing 2 turbos of the same manufacturer, to go with the larger one.

the rs60t just will have more potential down the road. when you go stroker you will spool that 60trim just as fast as the 50 would with the 2.0, and prolly since you will be going forged(hopefully) you can bump that 60t to 35psi and still be within its efficiency range.

and not like theres that much difference in lag between the rs40 and rs60.

id definately go with the rs60t, with either external gate off the manny, or external off the o2 housing.

I saw in another thread that they didnt recomend boosting this turbo to 30 psi? does anyone have experience with this being a problem? If not then would it be safe on stock internals?

people dont recommend boosting the stock t25 past 15psi but people put it to 20 anyways.

on stock internals with a great tune on pump, i wouldnt push it past 20psi. tuned with race gas, maybe 22-24psi. with arp head studs and better head gasket, race gas and tune, 25-26psi. built motor, 30psi.

I use the 9:1 Wiseco's. No problems tuning and a bit more umph off boost and maybe a few tenths better mileage also. Just have 2000 miles on mine and pleased I went with 9:1. Mark
