Yeah well last thursday on my way to work I rear ended an older chevy pickup. It was my fault. I was making a right turn in the yeild lane and I looked over my shoulder to see if any cars were comming. The guy in front of me for whatever reason decided to stop and by the time I looked back ahead it was to late. Good thing was that there was hardly a scratch on the guys bumper so he was cool about it and we just went our seperate ways. My car was pretty bad though. Hood, pass headlight, fender corner light and front lense were all trashed. Pushed the radiator support back almost into the exhaust mani and mangled the fender/headlight support. I really didnt think I was going to be able to fix it myself but decided to try anyway. This was the first time I have ever done any kind of body reconstruction work like this. I ended up cutting the front off my parts car and welding it on mine. I got the hood, and headlight from my parts car to so the only thing I ended up having to buy was a fender from the junkyard which I sanded down and painted myself also.

I have been planning to take auto colision repair tech classes for about a year now. This experience has motivated me even more. hehe

Here are the pics. :thumb:

Talked to you a while ago when I was going to sell my car, never ended up selling it. I never realized you had such a good looking car to begin with. :thumb:

Well done man! I never reallly knew how hard body work/painting a car was until i repainted mine a few years ago. I have a much greater respect for those who do the work themselves now. And yours looks great man. :rocks:

glad you fixed it yourself.. mine was backed into and had 50% less damage than yours and they were going to total it.!

Very nice! That was a smart job of your part, and the insurance company doesn't get to scalp you for cash now. Remember to watch the guy in front of you first and foremost :thumb:

Heh. Its amazing how careful I am now. I always thought of myself as a pretty good driver before this but just goes to show that all it takes is a couple seconds and it can happen to anyone. Glad I was able to fix it tho.

Thanks for all the comments.

Yeah that auto collision course is calling your name for sure. Only 2 days and you managed to make it look like new.. Big UP.. :thumb:
