hehe kinda dumb question but whats stock boost on my car? just wondering if its worth it to install a boost controller and gauge without bov thats all. thanx

12-14psi and yes it is worth it to have a boost controller and gauge even if the BOV is not upgraded. you just can't turn up the boost until the BOV was upgrated.

later,

is there an exact number for stock boost for a 95 gsx?
i dont have any mods yet but i just got my boost controller, i juss need gauges, uip, and a bov and im going to install it. how much can i boost when i have everythin installed?

actually i recall the stock 2g's boost to be 9-10 psi, 1st gen up to 14psi
you can also boost that T-2 small(t-25) to 20psi, tho your turbo will not last long. couple of my team members have gotten 20psi out of theirs, but have had to replace the turbo after 3 months. i would say not to go over 18psi. what bov are you going with?

Just curious about what the stock psi is for a 1g. When i bought my car it came w/ the honeycomb removed(if it makes a difference), and it shoots right up to 8psi@about 4000rpm. Just curious if this is about normal, or should it hold a little more, like10-12? Thanks!:D

most stock turbos on 1989-1992 mitsubishi 1g turbos are preset at 11 psi, unless you have modified it, that is what it is. and the stock boost gauge is beserk, major crap, very innacurate so dont trust it.

my car has a VDO boost and egt gauges in it right now. I just looked and it hits max boost (8psi) at about 5000rpm. It never goes above 8, so I figure it probably has a leak...do you guys think i should test it for a leak or could that just be how it is considering its old?OMG

check for leaks in the intercooler pipes, and all gaskets that are under pressure (throttle body, elbow, turbo outlet, intake manifold, egr) and other assorted vacuum/boost hoses. Check for and cut off cracked ends, make sure the clamps are good. You can pressure test the system by blocking off the turbo inlet and pressurizing at the turbo outlet pipe nipple with a bike pump. It should be able to hold 20 psi. Or at least 18 with a stock system(1g)

Whats the stock boost on a 2G???

also after doing my AFM mod, dumptube mod, and intercooler cleaning and resetting my ecu my car started idleing really low and kind of missing and would eventually die.

I turned up the idle and now it wont die but it will bounce around 900 to 1300rpm. I also checked for leaks, and made sure all my hoses were tight and it didnt seem to help.

I think my AFM might be messed up though, clumsey me dropped it about 2 feet when i was taking the honeycomb restriction out of it, what do u guys think?

the car drives fine though, weard idle while stopped though

Bad move! Please tell me ya still have most of the honey comb!!!!!!
I did that the first couple of days I had the car and it ran like crap till I got them back in..........Just put the honey comb back in! Im still missing one or two but it doesnt idle ruff any more. The honey comb mod is for 1gs not 2gs (95-up if your unsure of 1g-2g lingo).

Some kid with a 1g told me to take it out so I did and the same thing happend to me and my CEL (check engine light) came on. But after putting it in and running good gas and some injector cleaner was back to normal.

I dont have the honeycomb stuff, i guess i gotta buy a new afm probably. Is it bad to run the car like that???

Im guessing the honeycomb affects how the sensor reads the air

Hey guys, Im new to DSM, just got a 1997 eclipse gst today. I was just wondering what the stock boost level is and how high I can safely raise the boost? thnx guys
