OK so i am out tuning the car (tuneNstein + SAFC) and i notice that on my log my TPS is 86.6 % so i pull over turn car off and turn acc on. I hit the gas petal to the floor 86 and safc reads 86%. Now our OEM petals have that kind of "tater tot" effect where you can hit the bottom of the pedal and i get 86 then i moved my foot to the top of the pedal (felt it flop a little more towards motor pushed and got my 100% on both readsings which is cool but.... I really wish i knew this because before that i was slamming on the pedal so hard it snapped during a pull !!!!! (pushing on lower part) My question is should i just stick with the OEM pedal (from yard) or are there after market pedals that dont have this "tater tot" play ? Hard to explain but i tried :D

"tater tot" play
Not quite sure what this mean but couldn't you weld it so there's no play? I will look into this when I get my car going again.

If by "tater tot" play you mean a see saw kind of thing there is something wrong with your pedal in the first place. It shouldn't matter whether your foot is on the top, bottom, or middle of the pedal; to the floor is to the floor.

He means that the actual part you put your foot on can pivot independently of the shaft of the pedal.

It's supposed to be that way. Almost every car is the same way.

haha i know i was like how the hell should pushing on the bottom only give me 86 and the top 100 % I thought i was going crazy. i will take a trip to the yard i guess. I just don't want to have the same effect like i do now. Was thinking maybe a different style pedal doesn't have that pivot in it.

a non rotating pedal would be very uncomfortable, maybe just getting a clutch pedal and sticking it on the end of the gas pedal lever and trying that

yea i think most if not all cars have that movement in the pedal...

Think about it, is you foot at the same angle when its floored and when its simply resting on the pdeal?, it'd be unfomfortable to have it the same angle at all times, consider the teetr tauter effect and ankle luxary...

You can do what they do with racecars and just make a pedal pad out of a curved piece of aluminum or steel that's rigidly mounted or welded to the pedel arm. Of course, many racecars with this setup usually have bottom hinged pedals too.
