DSM parts now sales Johnny Race Car front mount intercoolers for 599!!!!!!!! with piping there making some good bucks off that considering clubmitsubishi.com sales the exact same set-up on the forums for 480 and still make bux :shhh: :barf:
and you can but them from him directly for what 200? then spend 110 on pipes, 20 on couplers...

Hell I got the 8" core and am just about done with the IC pipes. Just waiting on a 2G throtle body to come in from a member here.

well there is a point between "profit" and "rip off artist".

I got my intercooler for 195? 200? shipped. $110.XX in pipes from JCwhit, $25-30 in couplers/T-Bolts from Ebay. So be generous and say $275 in parts.
So just how does that justify them marking that price up over $200? WTF :confused:
I mean that is just flat out ripping people off.

depending on the core it fits just fine.
search for the thread about it, it is a massive one.
Alot of 2G guys got the JR core and kept the lights.
I got a 1G and because I got the larger (taller) core I had to do quite a bit of mods to get the intercooler mounted just how I wanted it.

Now I am working on the piping, and discovered I have to raise the fog lights an inch or so to be usefull... :confused: WTF Oh well the things we do to have our cars just the way we like them.
2 1/2" out of the bottom of the bumper
raising the Cruise Control unit 1.5" for pipe clearance
raising the fog lights 1" to clear the coupler/pipes
And that is just the short list... LOL! ROFL :D

i know this is stupid of me too ask, but im buying the JRC core for 199 shipped from his site...but i need to get the piping..does any body have teh exact piping i need...PS...intercooler to UICP BLOWTHRU(not short route) and the DS..intercooler to 14b if any one has those bends and such get back @ me on here :thumb:


this is why i laughed @ the price ROFL cause im investing in one :rolleyes:

hmm look at the JR thread link I put in my reply... good place to start. I know it is in there several times.

the 1G routing is totally different.
I had 1 (180) 4 (90) and 1 (45) but the 2G is totally different.
 
yea i looked through the whole thread after making this one but all i found was short route and pics no actual bends and such ill look over it again but its the biggest thread ever WTF

yeah very sizable indeed.

Actually... the layout and everything is pretty much the same 1G/2G engine bay wise right?
then you got your list above.
that plus 6/7 couplers and your good. Get the 7" CLR (center line radius) 180 though... I got the 5" CLR and had to cut and extend it.
Have a way to cut the tubing too, I can take some pics tomarrow and post em up for you if you want. Just send me a PM to remind me.

turbo to IC is the same. I am running a T3/4 so I can rotate my housing to face the way I need it to, straight down. (90) to the drivers fender to reach the IC (180 -I removed about 2.5" from the IC side to tuck tighter into the car - I also had to cut it into 2 90's and extend it some 2" to reach the 3" hole I drilled for it to run through THOUGH IF YOU GET THE LARGER CLR PIPING IGNORE THIS)
Passanger side IC is a cut down (90 -I took about 2" off one end to line up with the stock IC pipe opening) to rear of vehicle (90) to invert up throught the enlarged factory IC pipe hole. (90) angled to fit the (45) to the TB. The (45) to the TB looks like I am going to need to weld 3-5" to reach. Though I am NOT nunning a blow through right now, however I might mount it up anyway.

I'll tell you what. Start a business and sell your items for just a bit more then you pay for them, and try to pay your employees, business fees, utilities, and take money home for your family.

That is not ripping anyone off, it's how businesses work. I'm sure they aren't selling these every day, and the prices for each individual piece are out there if people look.

Do you think it costs HKS $600 to make a set of cams?
 
Some people are so cheap it sickens me. :rolleyes: Most people don't want to buy all their parts from 5 different places.

I like a one stop shop, someone to sell me something and I don't have to go making 20 trips to home depot to find the right shit. Plus I support the DSM vendors. I don't mind paying a little more and not have to make anything myself.

I agree on one stop shopping, but common? over 200 more? that's alot steep. Hell the other one is only 80-90, so that is alot more reasonable...

i ordered to 2.5 " u bends,1 45 degree and a straight pipe

cut the 2.5 u bend and use the 45 to connect the UICP,cut a lil of the u bend around the DS and the straight pipe to the J pipe

Yeah I did all mine 2.5"
both the IC outlet pipes need trimming. When you go to lay them up you will see what I mean and can judge how much for yourself. The 90 up to my turbo will need to be trimmed, but that is expected.
Then the 45 to the TB will need trimmed, and welded on to the 90 to have it alot cleaner.
But see what I mean about the 180 from the IC, it needs to be cut and extended a little to fit just right.

Those are actually some of the best layout pics I have seen on here. Alot are far away and kinda obscure. Those are close up, personal and very clear on what goes where.

Damn now I gotta go take them off, wire brush them and clean up the welds some...
Lincoln pro mig set on C heat and 1.2 speed. Goes like butter.

No, it was on there during the engine pull and replace. So yes it got hit in various spots...mostly it's just dirty.
Does the car look anywhere near ready to run?
Hell I am still waiting on a MLS headgasket that will not be shipped till next week. I just threw the old one on to do the IC pipes.
