im currently gonna updrade my clutch and flywheel and i wanna throw in the fidanza flywheel but im not sure what clutch will be the best i just rebuilt my engine and planning on putting enough mods on my car to run 11 or 12 sec 1/4 miles

There is a big gap between 11's and 12's, so prepare yourself to run 13's.

As for the clutch, yea, 2600 is the norm. However, a 2100 with a 6-puck, sprung disk will also hold a good deal of power, and put less stress on the thrust bearing.

My car is a 98 gst very modded car but on a evo 3 turbo hopeing to get 350 out of her. I daily drive it and it only see's drag time on the weekend. I dont mind a stiffer feeling clutch but i dont know what to go with. I have heard alot of bad things about ACT right now and Rps clutchs have given my friend problems for a year now so there out of the qestion. Anyone if I dont get some good advice from you guys I will probly just go with 2100. Still afraid of the crankwalk thing for the 2600 even though im 6-blot now. I want a clutch that is between the 2100 and the 2600 and a nice engament for the daily driving.

THanks all in advance
AJ

BY the way on top on the 350 I might be spraying a 50 shot so need something that is going to hold all that torque.

Unfortunatly I'm in the same boat...but I'm planning on going with one of the new SBR clutch setups. I havn't decided if i'm going for the 3500 or 4000 yet...but the guys at SBR are swearing by the quality. So i figure I'll give it a shot...they've never steered us wrong b4.

which clutch out there can i get that will grab soft and hold at least 400hp? i got an 2g and im trying to stay away from crank walk. latest i read so far the best to stay away from c.w. is act 2100, but then i want a clutch that will with last and withstand power. I just think the 2100 will
not cut it.. so help me find a clutch.....

I just lost my clutch and need a new one. I have looked around a little but don't really know what clutch is the "best." I dont have any engine mods yet, but am about to put in a new bov, intake, and boost controller. Maybe put on an exhaust after that. Should I get the ACT 2600 kit, or would the ACT 2100 be enough to handle the mods. Or if anyone has another clutch they think would be best for around $300-425 i would be glad to hear about it. Thanks....oh yeah its for a 97 GSX

The ACT2100 should handle the mods you are going to install. But, I would just get the 2600 now and be done with it, unless you are going to be replacing the trans or engine somewhere down the line

Since your AWD, then 2600 definatley. But look into Slowboy's 3500 clutch kit. its $400. Its getting rave reviews lately, and has just as much clamping force as the 2600 but only half the pedal feel. This is a good thing is your used to your stock clutch. Also they say it has no break in, but id go ahead and break it in anyways. website is slowboyracing.com

Also the "Spec" Stage II is a great clutch that's also getting lots of good reviews.

i would definately go with the 2600 because it is a all around good clutch especially if you are planning on doing a lot of mods in the future!!!!!

by the way i just bought one does anyone know what the break in period is????

Alright I am need to buy a clutch today and was wondering everyones thought on the following clutches.

ACT
Exedy
Spec

Which should I go with. I have been thinking of going with the ACT 2100 but not sure. Exedy I can order through a local proformance shop. The spec I have read about it being the next generation to the DSM's but I dont have a clue for the right stage I should choose for my set up.

Thanks to all
