I'm going to be changing my end clutches soon on my car, and putting in the Translab shift kit. With this I'll need to replace my tranny fluid, and also at the same time I'll want to replace in my rear diff. I wanna know what a real good tranny fluid to go with. Money isn't really a concern so I don't mind throwin down cash for the real good stuff. just wondering. thanx.

Those wouldn't be my first choice for an automatic trans :)

Either stick with the factory fluid or search for posts from transdude. He's talked about some synthetic fluid and a friction modifer he likes.

i wouldnt use mobil 1 i believe my trans is messed up and i blame it on this, because it was working fine when i had my shift kit, end clutches, and cooler installed then it slowly went down hill, and when i put it away in the winter the trans was acting really weird

I'm sure you know alot more than John @ IPT.

John recomends Amsoil (he's a dealer) Mobile 1, or even penzoil(sp?) as long as they are synthetic. Make sure to use the black bottle of lube guard to convert these fluids to our specs. I've used this in my freinds 97 GSX at and it seems to be working good. Also, alot of people have had good experince with the stock diamond ATF when changed frequently(beacuse its not synthetic). The only fluid we're warned to really stay away from is Trick Shift, beacuse it has too much seal conditioner in it, and tends to expand them, and blow up a/t's(but boy does it shift hard  )

I am thinking of using royal purple in my car, for just about every thing (oil, differntials, trans, power steerring, etc......) Any one tried this stuff?

:dsm: royal purple isnt good for trannys
they dont have their compositions right yet. my dads friend owns a tranny shop and they still believe in syn or good ol regular stuff. of course they arent always working on our higher perf. engines. :dsm:

All of royal purples product is full synthetics though......

they also have an atf version of transmission fluid.

There is nothing wrong with Royal Purple or Mobile 1, we just happen to sell Amsoil because it is great stuff and is easy for us to source.
