*TREADSTONE* Bar & Plate Intercooler
This intercooler is a quality spearco style bar and plate design which will out perform any other tube and fin style intercooler. Tube and fin is meant for radiators not high performance turbo systems. This intercooler is 3.50" thick, not 3.00" and surely not 2.5" like many cheap import coolers are. This intercooler will easily support 760CFM's, 500HP at 0.5psi pressure drop, but can easily be pushed to 650HP. Perfect size intercoolers for Integras, Civics, Eclipse, 240sx, Mitsu Evolution, VW, RX7, Supra, WRX......Our intercoolers are pressure checked and come with a 1-Year Warranty. Retail Price $509.00 We have 100's in stock and are looking for resellers and vendors, email for more details.

Core Size, 7.8" X 22" X 3.5"
Overall lenght 28"
2.5" inlet/outlet
760 CFM flow rate
510 HP efficient

Is it any good or should I just save for a namebrand?

well that's what i was thinking, but then I thought "might be too good to be true." thought i'd ask u guys. :thumb:

i bought my intercooler through streetimports, it's 27x12x3 hopefully it's enough for my evo 3 16g.

I have the same intercooler, but larger on my 240sx with Skyline RB20DET engine with upgraded t3/t04e 57 trim. Mine is 24x12x3, looks like an identical core style. I got it for $250 shipped new and it works great. Supposedly 0.5psi drop, but I haven't tested it. This does look like just about a perfect size for the 4g63 trying to push 450whp or less. The price is good, the core is good, and it has tabs to bolt it up; I'd say it is a good purchase.

I thought the Skyline engines were either RB25 or RB26. The 2.0 Liter is the SR. Is this right or wrong?

not to start flaming, but I was under the impression that skylines had just rb26det(t) and rb25det(t) engines, the numbers 26 and 25 being their displacement: 2.6L and 2.5L respectively. An sr20det is the sylvia engine and is a 2L (20 = 2.0L)

:dsm: i just got that intercooler about a month ago, i havent installed it yet because im in the process of getting piping made, but i have heard alot of good things about it, but the other problem is i have to get somebody to weld me some mounts on there since its a universal w/o ne sore of mounts except for the extra lil chunk they welded on the sides so you can attach mounts. If ne one already has this mounted PLEASE post pics. ALso thats the same price I paid it was 260 all together shipped to my front door and it only took 8 days. :dsm:

OK to end all of the debate so we can get this thread back on track. Nissan Had more then one engine line, the ones questioned are the sr and rb. Yes the Sr is a 2.0 liter in-line four cylinder that came as turba or N/A. The RB line came in a couple of different cars, the RB20DE is a in-line 6 cylinder 2.0 liter N/A engine. The RB20DET is the same enigne only turbo'd, hince the "T". Then came the RB25DE, the same as the RB20DE only 2.5 liters. And it's counter part was the RB25DET, same as the RB25DE only turbo'd. Then there was the GTR engine, the RB26DETT. It's the only one stock twin turbo'd, and only came in the GTR trim of Skyline but was available in other vehicles. I was pure Nissan until I crosed over the the 4g side ;)

for 159.99 bid or 169.99 buy it now and 40$ shipping you can have a much taller and wider IC and 3" deep...

Sorry this thread is getting hijacked, but to set things straight:

There are 3 RB engines, 2.0, 2.5, 2.6L. The 2.0 came from RWD models (not AWD) and was turbo'd making 210hp stock. The Skyline GTS-T was one such model, you can look it up. This engine is cheaper than the other two by thousands, but can still make great power (mine is currently around 350whp before tuning).

Back on topic:

I believe those "chunks" they weld on there are so you can drill in part way(not into the core) and tap threads and bolt to it, they should do it for you, but I'd assume that is what they are for.

That is the FMIC that I use, not from that seller, but they all sell it; can't go wrong!

PS- I uploaded a pic of it on my car when installed

Thanks for the backup man ;) I was all Ford(370whp 2g Probe V6), then Nissan(currently with the RB), but I'm selling my 240 pretty soon for a good chunk and then buying a 97 Talon TSi AWD and aiming for 400awhp, that's why I'm on here doing all my research lately.

LOL I love seeing pictures like that with tools and parts laying around everywhere. Reminds me of all of my new installs, I can't keep anything organized at all! The IC looks good! I searched around ebay a bit and all of the low dollor bar and plate intercooler cores look the same and probably are, I wonder how they compair to the name brand stuff?

hence the long, drawn out , noninformational threads about eBay intercoolers. I'm sure these intercoolers are perfect for street use. I myself am going with JR's when I upgrade FMIC/turbo :)

Is that the same dimensions as the one that I originally posted?

Core Size, 7.8" X 22" X 3.5"
Overall lenght 28"
2.5" inlet/outlet
760 CFM flow rate

Or is it bigger?
