who here has a kevlar timing belt?
Im getting one and i personally like that they last double the oem one.

we have had great luck with the Kevlar belts. I wouldn't worry so much about how long they last versus the peace of mind of not having your timing belt snap and taking your engine with it. It's agreat investment for anyone serious about their car.

I'd like more information about them. The belt failures I've had and seen haven't been from the belt breaking, they've been from the rubber losing its strength and the cam gear shearing off the batch of teeth it happens to be pulling on at the time. Does the kevlar go up into the teeth somehow, or do they just use a different makeup rubber along with the kevlar strands?

And do you think you'll be driving this car for another 60,000 miles?

I found out that the teeth are not made out of rubber.
They're made out of kevlar and nylon strands.below that is rubber with a glass cord backbone.

I hope i'll be driving it for longer than 60k considering im doing a 6 bolt swap and beginning on the road for more power. :)

I have the power enterprise timing belt. it is worth every penny. It wont strech like those other cheap ones also it last like three times longer then the oem ones. :dsm: you can get them cheap at edoperformance.com just say you saw there ad and you get free shiping.
