This weekend I completed the project of retrofitting the BMW HIDs. Using a BMW Hella projector into a single projector 97-99 eclipse style headlamp and 4300K Phillips Germany bulbs and Hella ballasts I got it all done. After a lot of fabbing and wiring I am very happy with the outcome and I thought I would share. Opinions welcome :thumb: !

yeh those are just 3 dollar H3 bulbs in there right now. Im going to get the H1 for the hi beam and the H3 for the fogs in the Silverstar brand because it will be the closest match and be a lot whiter. But they are soo bright now. I always think to hit my hi beam switch now when another car is coming because I think I have my hi beams on when i dont LOL :p

and for the yellow car Ill get some more pics tonite.

What intercooler and piping is that, that allowed you to retain the foglights?
Oh and the yellow car looks like a 4x4, the rear end is JACKED off the ground.

yeh its a lambo kit car on a Fiero body. my dad does side work and he got that from a guy needing A/C worked on. it just happened to get into the shot. on the wiring I had to use a relay to give more power to the ballast than the factory wiring was able to and to reverse the ground to make hi and lo beam work.

Wow it looks really nice man!!!

I'm thinkin of doing HID in like month or two.. Was it hard?? or how hard was it?

Man, that looks awesome. Do you have pics of the beam cut-off? How much retrofitting did you have to do? Nice work.

it was 140 for the headlights, 275 for the ballasts and bulbs, and 120 for the projectors. miinus the 200 I sold my stock headlights for. so around 300-340 and it took all weekend making brackets and all. ill get some photos of the cut off tomorro nite

def. looks good. :thumb:

my retrofit was a little cheaper than that for everything i spent about about 130 bucks. Not sure of the exact specs but mine are out of a 03 maxima. and they are very bright

Here's hoping you kept the parts so you can swap back nice and easy right after you hose down a cop car with those lights.

i'm a little confused, i thought you bought the headlights that had the projectors built into them? did you take those out and use other projectors then? like audi or bmw ones?

couldnt u just buy an HID kit for this price?

yeah you could...which is what I was gunna do first but read more and found out the kit is just a direct plug and play and is not made for reflector housings blinding other drivers and causing a bad glare. is and look illegal(more so than the retrofit) and you get a constant white light rather than the cool BMW/Audi purple/blue flicker :D

So let me get this straight you used the following and just removed the projector and replaced it with the bmw ones? Which ones are the high beams outside or inside(trying to figure out if the bmw ones will be your high or low beams? Really looks nice if you are willing to do a write-up I am defiantly going to atempt this.
