I purchased a FMIC and J-pipe from Jr perrot on ebay, the 90 deg. bends ig to from ubendman on ebay, the coupling pipe from napa and the clamps from home depot.

FOr every thing..
UICP, all piping, J-pipe, FMIC, clamps, and coupling hose. I spent about $530. Not a bad deal if i say so myself.
 ;) ;)

I ddint get the piping kit so i decided to make my own. It took a lil cutting and fabbing but were we go.

all pipes are 2.5 inch. Jpipe is 2 inch

here it is beside the stock one

Then another 90 degree - i had to take a hammer and persuade the pipe to bend a lil so it wouldnt rub the oil filter housing. :yes

th passenger side is the easiest.

thanks. umm install took me about 4-5 hours. cutting the fan is what took the most time. it was a cut and fit job. seems like it took forever, cut, fit, cut, fit, cut, fit. then bolt the radiator in place then cut fit somemore.

What did you cut on the bumper? From the picture, I think it looks good.

See the area behind the intercooler pipes (looking at the opening of the bumper), I wonder what it would look like if you painted that white to black, that way the FMIC/piping is more pronounced. Just a thought.

not a bad idea, i think it will look good too. Thanks a bunch. ya knw on the 1st gens there are two platic "beams" that are vertical on the outside of the foglights. i also shaved a good deal of the boottom lip on the inside :( oh well.

Great job but consider having all those couplings welded now that you have them positioned, of coarse the route you chose on the pasenger side will need to still have a few couplings but try to get away from all the clamps if you can as your next pipe project.

But great job on it :)

yea i want to get it welded but i may upgrade intercooelrs so i'm leeping my opitons open. Its cool i have a welding shop not 50ft away from the shop.

awesome writeup! i've been worrying about the piping in my car. gonna start my project once the car is put away for winter. just wanted to thank you for the write up. i'm pretty good with mechanics and this stuff in general, but after your simple guidelines, i'm more than ready to do the IC piping myself!

finished product looks great! i agree, a little mesh since you cut out all the plastic braces will look nice

thanks much!

do you have that pic of the drivers side that is not showing?? all i get is the red X.

i'm really interested in seeing where exactly that piping goes. do you have to cut any of the metal bracing on the car to make room for the first 90' bend around that drivers side corner?? that's the only problem i forsee with my car (but i haven't been out there lining up pipes yet) just something i think i'm gonna run into!

you got that pic?? i'd really like to see it

thanks again!

pic fixed, no no meatal on the car was cut anywhere

looks great, but I have one concern. It looks like you cut your fan shroud as well as the blades. any issues about overheating now and are all the blades still ballanced?
