What do you guys think is better the DSM Link v2 for 1g or a Stage 3 Chip for KeyDiver? The DSMLink for 1g has the same features as the 2g v2 DSMLink... Just want to see if its worth spending $600 on...

I'm sure you can ask any 2g owner with dsmlink what the best mod for there car is and they will tell you dsmlink. I don't think the 1g version is out yet though is it?

It is out, and offer more than a chip.

Link that sumbitch. It is by far the best money I've spent on the car, even if all it did was get rid of that damn CEL. If you add up the cost of everything you would need to match DSMlink, you would spend a lot more. If you have an EPROM ECU already buy it, if you don't have a laptop you can run it on a Palm, cause Hal is cool like that. :thumb:

dsm link for sure i use it in my 2g and love this thing. like every other owner says this was the best mod for the car. i used the keydiver chip also before link. the chip has nothing on link.

you wont be unhappy with link trust me :thumb:

I see, Well I have a '90 Talon, but got a '92 Talon ECU Eprom with Stage 3 Keydiver Chip. Haven't installed it yet though... need to swap the coil pack... But about the DSMLink is better then the KeyDiver Stage 3 Chip? I mean for a 2g the DSMLink can log knock but 1g already able to log knock.

Look at all of the things you can log and compare that to the pitiful little list your current logger can show.

Now, add to that the ability to make tuning changes on the fly.

How does that compare with what you have now?

Hal

Plus, once they update their site with the information on the 1G version of DSMLink, there's even more features that it's 2G counterpart.

Then I assume that there will be a v3 for the 2g guys pretty soon, too?

Ok, Now how will this affect people with ScanMaster? Will there be problems?

Actually they just released v 2.5 for the 2G's. It's sex in software form. :thumb:

couldnt' have said it better myself.

I'm in a very big debate on if link will work w/ my race car setup or not. ITs either link or aem ems in the 1g awd. Hardest descision i've had to make. I've come to love all the features of the link.

Me gusta as well!

You can either tune your car with DSMlink, or "guess" with a chip. Your choice.

v2.5 is the release of the p/c client software which supports 2g v1 & v2 and 1g V1 chip sets

The current feature set for the 2g is still V2

I can't get on to the DSMLink forums and I don't see a 1g version for sale on their website where do I go to buy it?

I believe to get onto the site you have to have dsmlink. The 1g dsmlink isn't released to the general public quite yet, just to the people who have been on the "list" for quite some time. 515 bux for cool ppl like me and 550 for the general public. Of course im always broke so yeah.

for a 1G, the main advantage DSMlink has over SAFC/logger is the ability to manipulate timing. this helps 1Gs, as many suffer from timing issues with large injectors due to agressive stock timing maps. this can be resolved with either a properly programmed chip, OR with DSMlink... if you don't plan on messing with timing, chip/SAFC is fine... if you want to play with timing, and have the bling bling laptop setup that all the ricers drool over, get the link.

When is the 1g version going to be released to the public? I really don't want to buy an AEM.

as great as it already is.. i'd still love to see the day when DSMLink finally gets fully adjustable 3D maps (like hondata style), as an alternative to using the sliders.. this would really seal the deal as far as DSMlink vs full standalone
