My stock wheels are about to be put back on for winter but they need some TLC. I need some info on what color to actually paint them and how to do about doing it. How do I mask the rim to keep from painting the polished lip on the stock TSi wheels? And should I redo them in a clean white, a nice shiny black, or a grey? Please help thanks!!

one of my friends did, he put 3-4 coats of primer..then put like 3-4 coats of black paint..he depending how glossy you want it you can do a clear coat

You do not need an ounce of primer, i Painted my sorry i need to get some pics but this is what you do, Sand your wheels down smooth with wet sand, scoff them up with a scouring pad really good. (its made of plastic but makes paint stick. Then use some aircraft stripper and clean them very well. apply whatever color you want. I used metallic black, add four coats. Then after i let them dry for 5 hours i bought engine enamel clear coat and give that 5 coats. If the wheels turn white from the clear, it just means you have a lil much but it dries clear i promise. i did the same as above, but a bit easier. apply a generous amount of aircraft stripper, let it sit for about 10 minutes and hose off. may have to do that twice. dry with towel. apply even coats of paint, i did five (the $1 sprayer for the rattle cans work very well). apply clear coat same way, no need to wait longer than 20 minutes inbetween coats, even between the paint and clearcoat. i waited about 3-4 hours, put the wheels on and drove home. not a knick in the paint to this day.

also, i used torn brown paper bags to put between the lip and the rest of the wheel.
