Well, we just completed the first portion of the boost only (no nitrous) tuning on our DSM. There's a bit of wheelspin at 6100rpm, which artificially inflates the torque, but all in all, this is a good starting point. We have a LOT of cleaning up to do on this car...I think that'll be a good winter project :) Here are a couple of pics:

We'll be at PIR tonight and probably Friday night to do a couple shakedown runs with the car before the season ends. The car also has a new driver so there's gonna be a lot of "getting to know" one another :) If anyone can make it out, we'll see you there!

Pretty f'in sweet, PIR is still open? A buddy told me they were closed, if they aren't I think I am going to try and make it out Friday night.

Hahahaha, I knew you guys would come over to the dsm someday :) awesome job guys, Let us know how the time goes.

Well, with a new driver getting acquainted to the car, I wouldn't expect anything too amazing :) But I'll post up some times when we get it dialed in. Tonight will be more of a "let's see if the car goes straight and how it reacts to different launching techniques." Friday night we'll have a tuner on site to get the car dialed over multiple passes. We'll also have one of our Supras out there getting some last minute passes in before the rain starts. Should be a good time :)

Nice numbers. What snail are you running?

Thanks! Currently the car has a Garrett GT35R DBB. We have a GT42R DBB sitting here at the shop looking for a new home, but we're undecided on whether or not it should go on the DSM. If it does, then we'll definitely be using nitrous for spool up :)

Very nice #'s for a rough tuning job. :thumb:

Thanks :) We'll she what she does on the spray soon. Gotta concentrate on getting some of our clients' cars finished first. THEN we can divert some attention to our race cars :)

DJ has offered to drive, but I think we'll keep everything in house for liability reasons. I haven't received a full report from last night's track session...I think the car developed a water leak of some sort. I heard something about an 11.5 which isn't TOO bad for the driver's first time out. I'll post more later when I have details.... :)

Awesome numbers, and a great looking car (from what I can see). I'd love to see some fully assembled pictures of the car. How wide are the Gram Lights on it? Keep us posted on the numbers and tell DJ to get all the runs on video.

We have the 35r on the car now here too very good running turbo trapping over 130 for us and spools fine, considering bigger as well but the 42 has me scared its too much for 2 liters. Considering asomething in the 67mm range custom ball bearing.

I think the 42R with the right amount of spray will result in a nicely running car. I agree though, the turbo alone is too much for a 2L unless you're spinning 10k.

I have a 35r comp wheel with a 30r turbine wheel right now on my 2.4 and it hits 20psi under 4k. I would expect a 75 shot to have about the same results most likely. The GT 42 should work well on the bottle and get full boost somewhere 5k I'm guessing. If you're revving to 8,500 or 9k that would be a good powerband. I say go for it.
So did you guys get to run last night or did it rain out?

The turbo you describe is a 3040, same as a fp3065 and the difference between its tubine wheel and a 35r is large it and a 42 turbine is gigantic, We have both a true 35r and a 3065 they are worlds different in turbine sizes.

We did get to run the car. The driver's second time out, he ran an 11.2@130mph. MPH and ET should improve dramatically with better shifting technique as he fell out of the powerband with every shift. I look forward to building this car over the winter and seeing what it can do next season at the track :)

We have two of them at the shop right now, actually. Shoot me an email ([email protected]) if you're interested in one. Take care!
