YAY!!!!

Finally.

Remember the guy at the college with the Talon I was going to buy? Well I told him to eat a d*ck cause he was totally just messing that car up worse trying to fix it. And I decided anyways...I already have a turbo AWD that is at least in the top 3 fastest DSM's in my town...so why do I need another one?

So I bought a 95 GS. The blue book on it was about $3,600 and the lady was asking $3,000 - but I got her jewed down to $2,200 I wish I could take a picture, but I'll have to do it tomorrow. It's red, manual tranny, and it has a sunroof and came with a sweet pioneer deck.

Mechanically, it sounds great. No squeaky belts or ticks, tranny shifts smoothly, good clutch...brand new timing belt.

Cosmetically...there are a couple of small interior pieces missing but stuff I can get off of Ebay. I need a new front bumper, cause the bottom is broke in a couple spots. Also some idiot broke the key off in the drivers side door so that's all messed up, but an easy fix. But the only thing wrong with it that bothers me is the sunroof. It doesn't open. Anyone know what I should try to fix it? I've never had a sunroof before. It just opens a crack, and that's all. Will I have to take it to the dealership?

Anyways, I'll post some pics of my new baby tomorrow sometime.

No. In case you didn't try it, it's supposed to open to vent with the first push, then open fully with the second. You adjust the opening by how far you close it from full-open. If it's not getting past the first vent position, you're supposed to have a crank in the toolkit. Pop out the cover in the trim behind the sunroof button, and if you've lost your crank you can use an Allen wrench. Be very gentle with it, and with the help of the motor try to get it to open. If it doesn't, pull out the six Torx-headed screws on the inside rim of the glass and lift it off. Peek around at the tracks and look for crap, broken bits of plastic or other obstructions. The mechanism should work freely with the glass off- if it doesn't, you're beyond what I'm experineced in futzing with.
Use LocTite on the screws when you re-install, per factory spec.

Thanks for the info Defiant, I'll check it out later today. And here are some better pictures that I took this morning. You can see the broken front bumper, someone just hit a curb or something. Overall a very clean car though.

She has a TSI AWD or GSX if i remember correctly ...... i dont :thumbdown ...... but i do have a turbo

Probably fix the interior stuff, sunroof etc. Get a new front bumper. I'll probably cut the air can, run some seafoam through it, new plugs and wires.

That's about it, I think I'll probalby just leave it stock.
