painted my valve cover....thoughts?

hey everyone just got done painting my valve cover and just wanting to know your thoughts on it. never attempted soemthing like this before but i think i did alright. only probelm i had was when i had to tap around the spark plug area to paint the rest of the VC after it was dry i pulled off the tape and some paint came with it even though i let the thing sit for like a day, anyways i used this method, i was hoping for a little lighter but oh well. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107469

ya im really hoping it will hold up in the heat. said its heat resistant on the can but didnt say to what degree. thanks for your input. im gonna try to get a better pic of it up, that ones a little dark
 
This is my valve cover...powdercoated, holding up great.

both look really good..I glass-beaded mine and my buddies..My buddies is starting to change colors..looks really nasty now.

No, personally I think it looks cheesy when you start painting shit to match. Keep it simple. Maybe just the VC and the charge pipes the same color, not all the plastic. JMO :thumb:

ya thats kind of what i was thinking also. so you think i should paint my uicp and licp the red color? right now my uicp is chrome and i still the have the stock licp. thanks
 
I did my valve cover about a year ago in the green. I used the Dupli-Color Metalcast Groundcoat though. It still looks as good today as the day i did it.

I had thought about sanding down the lettering like you did.
 
I painted mine a couple of months ago and also replaced the vc gasket. I think I used the tech article as well but I used the Engine Enamel paint instead. The color went along with the color theme I had going, but since I got refereed that changed.
