I got my JDM 6 bolt today and have started taking it down. I'm gonna fit it with Wiseco 9:1 pistons and Pauter rods. Some crane or comp cams and a new 2600 ACT clutch, Magnus SMIM (gotta sell mine and get one for a 1G) and re-use all my existing turbo setup, plus all the normal goodies, ARP multi layer head gasket, new Clevite 77 bearings etc etc... Come spring it will swapped in and the old 7bolt taken out. The 7 bolt still runs strong and pulls like a MOFO at 22psi but it's time for some pistons and rods so I can spray nitrous on 26psi of boost. Should be fun.
I'm gonna update this thread as I go just for the hell of it. It will be updated with pics of the tear down, parts, build and swap just to document my success and frustration. This whole process will also be featured in HCI magazine as it goes.

good luck with the project. Nice to see a dsmer with another motor not cause they have to but cause they want 2 =)

We have very similar set ups, except I have my magnus mani sitting in the closet since its for a 1g. I would swap with you but i will be doing the swap soon as well. Feels wierd pulling out a perfectly good motor (so far) but i guess it needs to be done. I will probably opt for a little more displacement and just switch to a bigger turbo instead of the hose, but i have alos been thinking that 400whp on pump will be readily available on pump with a 50 trim, it would be kinda crazy to spray a 50-75 shot on top of that to kick it well over 500 on pump gas.
