Had a 14b and I completely pulled the vacum line so it would boost as high as possible. It only went to 16-18psi. I figured it reached it's mechancial limit. Now I have an evo 16g and it does the same thing. It won't boost any higher and I know this turbo can.
I crushed my 1g BOV more thinking it might be leaking but still nothing. I don't get how it can get that high and not any higher.

What vaccum line?

the one going to the boost control solenoid

"A loose actuator arm (or weak spring) lowers ultimate boost potential. You might get only 15 psi at max (with the actuator unplugged). "

Did you change your actuator from the 14 > 16G torbo, or is it the same one?

It's brand new from bushur racing including the arm. Maybe I'll wire it shut though to test it. Just seems weird both did it.

even if it is new it could still be defective. easiest way to test it is plug an air pump to the WG and see if it opens correctly.

also another thought, maybe the 1g BOV just isn't cutting it. see if you can borrow a friends aftermarket BOV and see if that's the problem also.
