I got this 6bolt that was fully built from a guy on here that said it had 1200 miles on it,so anyway i get everything together and fix timing problem finally and go for a drive with a few pulls for the first time after the clutch break in period...I noticed that my clucth pressure was changing a lot.SO i was trying different things when i would get going and coast.I would rev the engine to 6k and the clutch was no pressure for the first 2 or 3 inches you push it in,but then went back to normal the very next time i pushed it in.I didnt pump it or anything. It just went to normal. Then i try a few pulls and while my foot was on the gas felt the clutch at the same time and could immediately feel clutch pressure giving away. Some pulls i did the clutch would go pretty far down with no pressure but then the very next time i pushed it in...It seemed fine.I tried the hard left turns and yes the clutch pressure changes BUT it changes even when you rev the engine or just any time it feels like it.I dont have to do any pumping for this to return to normal it just seems to go back normal teh next time i press it in.The clutch was bled good. And this is an ACT2600 with fidanza flywheel and a 6BOLT! What in the world would cause this? Please any suggestions.I spent my whole summer putting this thing in and trying to get it to run and now this. Please i need serious help before i go crazy. The clutch is height is adjusted perfectly with the clutch extension rod from taboo and its got a new master and slave.Neither are leaking.

After reading about the slave cylinder extension rod from taboo and why its needed with an aftermarket clutch.I got one and put it in. http://www.taboospeedshop.com/SCR.htm
If my clutch fluid isnt going down at all and i have a brand new master cylinder and bled system good etc.Could this still be a slave cylinder even though its not leaking from there?I dont know what else to check and esp since my fluid level is right on the mark.

This is kinda long but please help me.I did troubleshooting and read a whole lot about clutches today.I bled the clutch system very good and went overboard to make sure. The clutch felt great pushing it in and out in the driveway.Well i go for a drive and as soon as i get on the gas i felt the clutch sink in under acceleration as i have my left foot lightly pressing to see if the pressure gave away.Well the clutch went to the floor as i accelerated.BUT pull it off the floor once and the clutch pressure returns to normal.A few times i had to pump the clutch to get it to come back up but only like one time. It doesnt seem to matter if i turn left and rpms dont change when i push in the clutch. But just under acceleration and driving in a straight line going through the gears. If i floor it in first sometimes second gear there is no clutch waiting for me, its on the floor or really close to it.There is no fluid on the ground OR under my carpet. My question is is there any way possible that after bleeding the system and going for a drive, that air is getting sucked in the system but not leaking any fluid? I have the RRE stainless mod done and im freaking out thinking i have covered all the bases. What in the hell would cause it to lose its pressure under acceleration and stopping.Sometimes it loses pressure when i turn either right or left ...Its just plain out driving that it loses pressure.I bled the system right and read everything RRE and vfaq have to offer. The clutch has the room it needs at the top of engagement as well as few inches of travel on the bottom side before it catches.Everything has been checked and rechecked.Im not losing any fluid at all under any of these circumstances. But i lose pressure when i go drive it.If i sit there in one place my clutch pressure is constant. Making me think about "cw " and all that. But this is a 6bolt however i know it can happen on them too. Please help as i am taking it to satan tommorrow if i dont have any more ideas thrown my way.I really dont have the money and i would really appreciate your help and inputs. Thanks, Travis

1)
check the motor for crank movement.. I did have a 6-bolt crank walk on me before, but it would nearly die when the clutch was pushed in at idle. . just go to the crank pulley with a rubber mallet and a pry bar... hit it in towards the transmission first then try to pry it back out... a small amount of movement is acceptable but I mean VERY small amount.

2)
make sure the transmission is bolted to the motor tight, doing the 6 bolt swap you an only line up 3 bolts and if any one of them is loose the tranny can seperate and this can cause a varying clutch pressure.

3)
pressure plate or flywheel possibly loose or something is just wrong with the pressure plate.

4)
there is still air in the system, or a leak

other than this I dont know??

Somehow, my slave cylinder was letting air in the system, but wasnt leaking fluid.I bled it with a midivac and everything, but wasnt losing any fluid. When i went for a drive though and came back and cracked the bleeder..there was air in the system. So,i replaced the slave as a last resort and now it works.Anyone heard of a clutch part letting air in...BUT not leaking fluid? It still shudders a little when i downshift. My question is, With my clutch peddle pressure changing all the time beacuse of a tiny leak in my slave. Was i burning my flywheel with the disc the whole time, when i would be driving and the clutch would go to the floor or act up intermittent? I was in my break in period...Im afraid i burned the crap out of the flywheel since this was going on.What do you guys think? Would air in the system and clutch pressure changing around burn it really bad? Or was pressure off of it when the clutch pressure went? thanks for the inputs.

I have the same problem and it is really getting on my nereves. I have a new master cylinder, new slave cylinder, and a SS clutch line. Every 50 miles or so I am having to bleed the clutch line. What the hell could it be? Somthing or somewhere it is letting air in.

^^ Did you use teflon tape or another type of thread sealer? You might be leaking past the threads.
