I finished upgrading my Turbo System from an HRC S20G Set up to a new PTE Set up.

Previous best with the HRCS20G Set up.
322whp - 20psi 92oct
363whp - 24psi C-16


New Set up is finished And just got it dyno'd a week ago.

403whp - 22psi, 92oct (climbed to 25psi from 7200-8,000rpms)
456.7 - 25psi, C16 (climbed to 26psi from 7200-8,000rpms)

Still running stock 7 bolt motor - with HKS 264/272 Cams, ARP head studs

Dyno sheets are both this PTE Turbo - 1st ones Pump Gas, 2nd ones Race Gas.

Turbo is NON-Ball Bearing.

Cost of turbo is around the same as a 50trim

Overall cost is probably the same as Typical 50trim Kit from APG, etc.

As for Spool up? It actually spools really well.

Check out the Dyno charts for Flow, etc.


You can see when it really comes on, etc. Coolest thing though is while it's spooling up I'm actually seeing the same AirFlow's as my old S20G so I didn't loose any HP in the lower RPMs, Just gained a Hell of a lot in the upper RPMS.


At 8,000 rpms:
- I'm flowing 50-52lbs/min on pump gas.
- I'm flowing 54bls/min on Race Gas

My old S20G was maxed out at 38lbs/min on pump gas. (only dyno'd once on Race and didn't have a logger at the time to know what my lbs/min was)

At 8,00rpms:
I'm seeing 398gs/s

Running completly stock 7 Motor - with ARP's, and HKS Cams
Stock 2G MAS - All honey comes still installed, (ie: no modifications what so ever)

I'm Using DSMLINK V2. (wish I'd boughten V1 when I first got into DSM's back in 99, who knows how far I'd be right now :thumb: )

So easy to use, and so much better then a SAFC. Probably best investment so far.
 
Might be even better off with an AEM EMS. Nice numbers. Ultra nice torque curve. I thought the PTE GT's are ball bearing?

Well don't all turbo's have some sort of BB in them? :D But mine is considered Non-Ball bearing. And it's a custom turbo I had them piece together.

AEM is a better UNIT - but DSMLINK is every USER Friendly. And has almost all the same features as AEM EMS (or at least they are working on trying to have all the same features)

Anyways for my applications DSMLINK is perfect.

Hell of a job. I'm not a big fan of body kits, but you definitely did some awesome work with the engine.

That turbo uses a journal bearing set up, however the GT series has a much more aerodynamic/efficient turbine and compressor wheels allowing it to spool relatively quick for its size. The SCM61 uses the same compressor wheel, just a different turbine wheel that's not quite as efficient or expensive. Was that on an AWD dyno as well? That's impressive! - Brian
 
Wow those are some seriuos numbers especially on a stock high mileage motor. Those are some impressive numbers on the Hrc20G too. I noticed DSM has some nice dyno numbers and trap speeds from that turbo as well. Seems funny so many people bad mouth it. How come you have a T3/T4 manifold? I thought the PTE turbo's were made to fit the stock mitsubishi manifold.
