I just reinstalled my freshly rebuild driveshaft, and went to take if for a test drive. When I started backing out of my garage, I heard this awful noise coming somewhere from my transmition. Its like a cruching, grinding noise. I looked under the car and found some peices of shrapnal, all of wich are about the size of a pop can tab. They don't look like peices off of the clutch (brand new 2600, 78 miles on). I tried to push my car and sometimes it would go, and some times it just wouldn't budge. I am sick of droping my drive-shaft and tranny, so I'm taking it to a certified shop. If anyone has any idea of what could be wrong, PLEASE share your wisdom with me. I would like to know what needs to be replaced before I have it towed to the shop so the people there don't screw me. Thanks alot.

Well, I just got my tranny down and WOW  it needs some help. I think the vicous?? coupling exploded. I'll take pics when I get new batteries for my camera later today. Does Shep do repairs as well as rebuilds? OMG

Well I think what happend is, I just installed my 2600 and it wasn't fully disengauging when my dad was "happy driving" it around town. I told him NOT to drive it around due to this reason, but he compeletly ignored my statement. I got around to installing the 1/4 longer rod, so I drove it to school one day. Well my master cylinder was bad and I didn't realy think about it, I thought the rod fixed it, well it didn't, and I still drove it. When I was pulling into to parking lot, I disengauged the clutch and heard a loud bang. I thought nothing of it at the time. Later I finaly got around to putting in a new master cylinder(fixed the disengauding problem). After I was done installing it, I took it for a test drive. A nice crusise, about 10 miles or so to get a good feel for the fully working clutch. When I got back one of my friends said that I was leaving sparks in my trail through out my whole cruise. I looked under the car and saw a hole bunch of the little pecies of metal. I basicly freaked out, and didn't do any thing for about a week. Yesterday I finialy got around to putting it up and looking at it. Then I found the shreded side cover.

What "I" think happend is while driving with the clutch not disengauging fully, I proceeded to puncture the tranny some how(the lound bang) then, all my tranny fuild was pourded out. The transmition then over heated from lack of fluid in my cruise, then that shit exploded sending bits and pecies of shrapnel all over US 24. OOPS OMG

Lesson learned kids, MAKE SURE YOUR CLUTCH DISENGAUGES BEFORE YOU DRIVE....ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :barf: :thumbdown

Hope my spelling doesn't kill anyone who read this entire post.
