I think I am going to go with one of the 2 1/2"Punishment Racing downpipes and then have a local shop do a custom 2 1/2" w/ test pipe,no emissions tests here is Tulsa,Ok. I just do not want to blow money on a muffler that sounds like BRRRRRRRICEE. Any advise Please.
Also any input on the things above I am thinking about.

HKS Hiper- Sounds great at idle and nothing but a deep roar at WOT. Only draw back is that they are around $225
Looks awasome also IMO

I'm running custom 3" downpipe and 3" resonator in place of a cat with Apexi' N1 3" cat back system. System is still breaking in but after almost a week its got a nice growl to it. Just my 2 cents.

The only way it can sound "ricey" as you call it, is if it sounds faster than you are going. Plus with that turbo it can't sound too loud.

Magnaflow hands down. If you dont belive me come see my spyder. Apexi is humbled by my Magnaflow's deep tone. I've heard all of the exaust systems already posted and my Magnaflow sounds so much deeper. It just screams at WOT. :thumb: Maybe I'll get a sound clip when I can.

I have a 3 " tanabe super medallion racing spec exhaust with 3" downpipe. It sounds like a beast. It has a throaty sound to it when you are slowly accelerating, but when you get on it she sounds really really mean. You won't have a cat any longer so I don't know how you feel about that, but I love it :D I've never heard so many compliments on my exhaust, everyone loves it!

all I have to say is YES magna flow ownz

I had a 3" magnaflow (baffled)
and a 3" magnaflow (straight through)

baffled sounds like a fricking muscle car!
the straight through just ownz in the deep growl section, VERY loud and VERY VERY deep, fun muffler to kill rice burners with :p (only problem is the straight through is VERY VERY loud without resonators or cat :p LOL

Every car I've heard with a Magnaflow does have a very deep sound.

I use an HKS Carbon Hiper Exhaust. I like it, and it looks sexy. :)

I'm doing a Magnaflow 3" with dual outs on my exhust in the spring. Best part is I'm welding (well not personally:shhh: ) the stock tips onto it for the ultimate sleeper factor. I'll be running a 3" highflow cat too, so hopefully it won't be TOO loud all the time :)

i have NEVER heard a turbo DSM sound "ricey" with any exhaust. I like Thermal too because it doesnt have that "ricer" slant to it:dsm:

Wait, so now exhaust angle is a determining factor on being a ricer now?

Thanks for all the advise, I went with the HKS Hiper :thumb: The magnaflo does sound good, but a little to loud for me.
The HKS is perfect, not cheap but what I was looking for.....I am installing my new ERZ 2 1/2" downpipe, ported 95 manifold, ported 02, & ported turbo housing tommorrow.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!! :thumb:

i dont think its possible for a turbo to sound like rice. however my cousins GS sounds VERY ricey. i got a 3" catback and a OBX muffler, and it sounds great. i love it, it has a deep growl at normal acceleration, and when you hit it, it just roars to life. it doesnt have that gurgle that most ricers have when they downshift. however it has the 4" tip(i think, i never really measured) so people think the car is rice, till they find out its turbo. then its a real car.
