Can you run an external dump on an internally gated turbo? What is the plus's of running external dump anyways?

Yes. Better evacuation of the wastegate exhaust gives you a better pressure differential across the gate and gives you a better flowing wastegate, which should help with stead boost control.

victory performance makes a nice one. but it will be loud as hell. that is why you see a lot of people selling them. also unlike the wastegate dump which is only loud when holding boost, the o2 dump is always loud like you have a hole in your exhaust

An O2 dump is the same thing as a "wastegate dump" They're both only loud when you reach desired boost.

Completely and utterly wrong.

An o2 dump housing is really a 'O2 Housing with a Wastegate Atmospheric Dump tube'. It is only loud when the waste gate opens to relieve the pressure and maintain a boost level.

i love the sound. it does what it supposed to do and that is kill boost creep.

ive got a 3" o2 eliminator exhaust, is it going to be unbearable for everyday driving?

i was reading up a lot about this.. i plan on getting an rnr o2 eliminator turbo-back.. i was confused however on whether or not i should get external o2 dump or internal.. after thinking and asking people about it.. i came to a conclusion..

though it would sound mean as fugk if i got an o2 dump.. with the stock t25.. being as its internally gated.. its just not worth it right now.. the t25 is a POS and its not worth gettin an o2 dump at the moment.. because in the future i'm planning to get an externally gated turbo.. and ill have the wastegate mounted on the mani and have that dump.. saves me money from having to buy a different o2 housing in the future.. though it would be nice to have an o2 mounted external wastegate.. im not made of money
