Ok i am getting the TIAL BOV....does anyone know a company that makes a flange that will hook up to the first gen flange or does someone have any suggestions??

The Tial must be used with its own mounting flange. Your options are pretty much limited to cutting the 1g flange off, enlarging the hole to match the huge Tial mount and welding it on your UIC pipe.

I dont remember seeing any requirments for that BOV or any other for that fact. I believe he asked how to make it fit not if he should get it. i agree and think thats it over kill but to each his own.

You will need to have the flange that is provided welded on. the other problem you will have is that I dotn see a MAFT, VPC, or the like in your mods list. If you vent to the atmosphere then it will play tricks with your car and it will run weird. If you place the MAF after the BOV then you will be fine.

the thread maker is the king of overkill, so don't bother trying to tell him otherwise.

I see AEM on the modlist so maybe he has the EMS and running a MAP sensor system?

Yeah you'll need to have the old flange cut, and also a good idea to enlarge the hole in the ic pipe as the Tial has a bigger opening. Then you'll have to weld on the Tial flange.

If you have to ask how to make a Tial BOV fit a 1g flange... you shouldn't even be running that bov in the first place. just buy the flange that is suppose to go with it, rather than trying to make (a.k.a- hack the shit to work).

and you dont need a standalone to run it either... cause im sure someone will ask that too! it will work perfectly fine with a 2g MAS and the Tial can not be re-routed to vent back into the intake pipe.

The Tial is a 50mm valve.. the biggest out of damn near every BOV on the market. a stock 1g bov has like a 20mm valve at the most.

So, why will it only work fine with a 2G MAF even though it wont route back into the intake?????????? Oh thats right, cause it will have the same problems as any other MAF before that BOV. Please explain this to us all.

Exactly...

Venting a Tial to the atmosphere with a 2G mas is like venting a 1G bov to the atmosphere with a 2G MAS. It won't work without the use of a VPC, MAFT, or standalone as someone already said.

Which is exactly the reason you should be running a larger turbo if you have a tial. Compressor surge anyone?

The bad thing about the tial is that the flange they sell is flat, so to make it fit your pipe you have to grind a curve into the tial flange. It takes quite some time to get a good fit around the pipe.
You could see if tial has a mild steel flange, then get a 1G flange from RRE and weld the tial one onto that one. Of course you can only do that with a short route piping setup. The tial body is much to large to mount in the stock location.

cut a hole in the IC pipe and just slide in the BOV flange. hole saw works great for that.

Damn didnt expect so much conflicnt(im drunk right now) but anwyhoi...... im getting a tial because it is the most performance worthy BOV ont the market...... i dont know what i plan on running in the future that is why i like to go overkill but anayways, im going to running a t3/t4 60-1 .
