2G How to disable the clutch start switch (CSS)

Disabling the clutch start switch is recommended by most 2g DSM'ers but information on how to do so is scarce.

The main reason to disable the start switch is to save your thrust bearing and help prevent crankwalk. There is a flaw in the design of the 2g 4g63 oil squirters that leave the thrust bearing dry and under pressure when depressing the clutch to start your engine. The pressure that is placed upon the thrust bearing while dry can lead to thrust bearing failure and horizontal movement from the crankshaft (aka crankwalk).

WARNING! DISABLING THE START SWITCH MEANS THAT THE CAR CAN BE STARTED WHILE IN GEAR WITHOUT THE CLUTCH DEPRESED. DO THIS MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK. MYSELF AND DSMTUNERS WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACCIDENTS.

Okay to the point, look at the clutch pedal and you will see a small cylindrical button, not the one that is depressed when the clutch is disengaged. There's another button behind the clutch pedal that is depressed when the clutch pedal is pressed all the way to the floor. This switch is part of a normally closed circuit, meaning that when pressed it cuts the line holding the motor from starting. [It's a normally-closed circuit to ground to the starter relay, which the clutch switch opens. So does disconnecting the switch. The Truly Clever among you might envision an opportunity to design a simple anti-theft device from this circumstance.]
Follow the green and black wire towards the fuse box and you will see a white female to male connector. There's a thumb clicker on the top of the connector, press it and pull the connecting ends apart. That's it, you're done and now you can sleep better knowing that you're saving your thrust bearing.
[The effect on the thrust bearing, and the reasons for its failure remain a subject of conjecture. The clutch switch is a part of Federal Regulations in their ongoing attempt to protect the stupid from themselves.]

Its a really old post but now rewire that switch for your NLTS in Link and go bang some 9k gears without loosing spool.
Or buy an auto car as the "other car" like I did ROFL
It's been discussed alot, but thanks for taking the time to post up the work! I have all of my stick DSM's unhooked. Only one is rewired for no lift to shift.
Marty

Ok now you got me curious... what is No Lift To Shift? Is there some more switches on my clutch pedal that I'm unaware of? Don't have my DSM Link installed yet. Not sure my engine would handle 9k...it's got a light flywheel and balance shaft delete...it really rumbles violently after 3500 RPMs like a race car with crazy tingly feeling in the seats
