Feb 12th Redmond - Marymoor Park

Which area of the park do we want to meet in? There are a couple lots to choose from, but I think the biggest lot is the one you get to by taking the second right turn after entering the park. I guess I can scope it out tomorrow evening if no one has any suggestions.

yeah, the park is huge- let me know what part of the park that you guys will be in. Hopefully i'll have put the car backtogether, from the stereo install from hell. :p

how much are expected to show, i should be able to make it.

Okay, I drove through the whole park tonight and checked out all the lots. I think the best one for us to go to is Lot K. It's the first one on your left as your enter the park from the west side (W Lk Sammamish Pkwy). One concern is they've started charging $1 for parking at Marymoor since there was a big cut in funding for county parks last year. I don't think we should have to pay since we'll just be hanging out in the parking lot, and there aren't any pay checkpoints on the way out from there. However, if it's an issue, we could move to the Overlake Red Robin (Off 148th St, a little ways west of Marymoor) instead.

the parking at that red robin is awful. Better to simply zoink across (underneath) SR-520 and go to the redmond town center red robin (there's a mall, a claim jumper, other stuff).

I'll see you guys there. It just means i have to go put this damn car back together tonight or tomorrow. :p

Yeah, good times, i'm envious of all the evo16g guys, and the GVR-4 with the 18g. damn.

Too bad none of the RS-T's showed up, i wanted to take a look at one of those.

Much fun, damn those 16g's make a car quick. I was not keeping up with cornerhard when he romped on it. :p

My poor, poor 14b. ;)

MidnightRed: next time bring the DSM, and the scoobie. ;)

dude, you'll get your turbo eventually. I lusted over my friends turbo dsm's and such for quite some time before i ever had a chance to get one of my own.

Plus, you have the dead sexy looking 2g. :p

don't know. I'd like to plan one for a sunnier, warmer day. Sometime when I would bother washing my car, and such.

Getting a good turnout, and some shiny cars would be spiffy.

I think there's a hood river run (also in this forum) that is happening shortly, and is supposed to be pretty cool. AFAIK it's turbo-only invited.

Turbo only huh? thats nice...

i'm not sure. You can look around for the info and see-- like i said, that's just what i've heard. Something about the N/A guys not being able to keep the pace. That's partly what makes me wary. While i'm certainly no angel, (i am quite familiar with speeds starting with a 1 & 5 and not being 15mph ;)) I don't want to go all nutso- reckless, unsafe display, street racing & OMG over the limit all seem like bad things to me. I've got a perfect record and i'd like to keep it that way.

Anyhow, you have a bigger turbo than I do, so i don't think you'll have a problem (at least your profile says you have a T3).

FWIW. I think cornerhard knows more about it. Perhaps we can get the real low-down?

Actually, I do have a t3 turbo in my car : ) you should check out my cardomain and tell me what you think about it... However, right now im only going to be runnin about 6 lbs of boost so ill be like maybe equal with a gst maybe a lil more if its runnin right... so not too many braggin rights from me. But im totally down for a meet in march... just not the weekend of the 18th.. any other weekend sounds good to me.

It was fun meeting and chatting with all you guys! I had a good time and would definitely be up for doing it again when the weather gets better. There are a couple things I accidentally misinformed people on that need correction:

A) Non-turbo DSMs are welcome at the Hood River Run! I'm so sorry SonySlave, I was misunderstanding the discussion that was going on on the NWDSM list. The problem was in the past people have brought non turbo Civics, Subarus, and Lancers, and end up slowing things down and not having anything in common with the rest of the group. Talons, Eclipses, Lasers are always welcome though, whether or not they have forced induction :)

B) On a more minor note, I told people my turbo wasn't ported, which isn't true. I don't have the outlet or wastegate ported at all, which is what I was thinking of, but I did port exhaust inlet to remove the nasty step and match my ported exhaust manifold.

Here is a thread I made about the Hood River Run:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=168252

It's being organized on the NWDSM list, but I crossposted the relevant information. I've been to the last two Hood River Runs, and they're always a lot of fun, even when the weather decides to not cooperate. This is a chance to see some of the fastest DSMs in the northwest, and there are usually some non-DSM turbo cars packing some serious firepower. Last year there was a Z32 with a turbo V8 swap that was rumored to be spinning 1000whp, and a Civic with a 4G63 swap that was amazingly fast.

Even with all the hot machinery, don't worry about getting left out if you don't want to do triple digits on public roads. The leaders always do a good job of keeping things organized and out of trouble, and if some people feel a little frisky and take off ahead, the rest of the group catches up at the next checkpoint.

Just please if you come on the HRR and you don't make much power let those who do out first. Those of us who are faster take longer to get into our cars due to the cages/harnesses and having to passing 5 16G cars everytime we pull out from a stop gets old. This also goes if your car doesn't have anything done to the suspension work and good tires. There are some really twisty parts on this run, it's a very fun road. You do not have to worry about loosing the group, we have many points that we stop at so that everyone can catch up.

I've heard a rumor your car is actually running :p Can't beat that level 69 head. Hopefully things will still be going well by the end up April and you'll be putting our lowly 16G cars in their place ;) Maybe the fastest car won't be a Honda this time.

Yeah flinstone style around the complex
No you can't, that head is retarded. 5hrs of work on just the combustion chambers OMG Don't worry I'll still run 12s for some reason LOL.
