I searched all last night and couldnt find a thread with similar symptoms like mine...sooo
The other night i had to change my manifold to turbo gasket cuz mine blew out...soo i pulled the manifold off put the new gasket in thier...and i had to re-tap the threads to make a clean threading...well i bolted everything back up idled just fine pulled it out of my driveway and get about half of a block and then the car starts sputtering and loss power (i was NOT boosting either)...the car sounds like a WRX when u rev it and this is the weird thing, i quickly poped the hood while it was idling REAL BAD (almost about to die) and i could hear a bunch of clicking noises comin from stuff. and after about a minute it fixes itself and starts to idle just fine and then the clicking goes away. but as soon as i start driving it 2 cylinders or 3 here we come, i had a CEL that said cylinder 4 missfire detected...o and if i shut it off and start it after a minute or so it also starts up fine and idles fine..just when i drive it. These are the things i Have checked
-plugs and wires are fine
-everything is tight
-i switched a working Fpr just to make sure
-pulled my ecu out and i couldnt see any damage from what i saw

Im goin to swap ecu's just to make sure thats not the problem, also the coil pack and power transistor im thinkin about swapping with a freind. do u guys have any other suggestions cuz as of right now i cant drive my car  any help would be awsome

This might be silly, but:
I assume you had to remove the turbo to install the exhaust mani. Is the intake hooked securely back up to the turbo?

Edit: just noticed this
and i had to re-tap the threads to make a clean threading

Might want to look into doing a compression test now?

u dont have take off the intake to remove the exhaust manifold...and sorry for the clarity...i meant the threads on the turbo i had to Re-tap outta the 4 that are their. not the head studs.

yup! it stinks i took my manual to work and i forgot it thier :( and so now i have no clue how to test this power transistor!!..and my work isnt gonna be opened until monday and i sorta need my car to get fixed...if anybody could let me know how to test..that would be real nice of you :thumb:

UPDATE:
I ran the car until it started runnin on 2 cylinders and i got out under the hood quickly and uplugged cylinder 1,2,3,4 and had spark in all...so then i unplugged injector 4 and 3 and the car didnt change...and once i unpluged 2 it just about died and same for injector 1.....so its definatly fuel related not spark. I am going to change the injector resistor pack on the firewall asap....does anybody know what else would cause 2 injectors to fire and 2 not to? also injectors i have in work just fine so its not the injectors

anouther UPDATE:

--I went to the dealership and purchased a new Coolant temp sensor and a new Injector resistor pack

--put everything back together and still its doing it  I havnt been able to drive my car for a while and i need my car back!!!! can anybody help me out here?

yea i swapped a workin ECU and still did the same thing!!! i did a compression check and i came up with 155, 158, 150, 162...compression is fine....any electrical experts out thier can give me hand

i had t hat problem on my car was only running on 2 cyl turned out to be a wire broke in the wireing harness coming through the fire wall i think it was yellow with a red stripe i could be wrong on the stripe color but after i fixed that all was good the wire connected to a harness at the kick panel of the passenger side

I am having basically the same problem and judging by what people are saying and things I have read, I would say it is in our electrical system somewhere. However mine still might be my transistor, i dont know how to check it yet.

But if you find anything out or fix yours, then please let me know!

Theres a plug that came loose on my GST... with mine, it would barely start, chug for a second and then die...... anyways, check the plug i tried to circle in the picture (sorry its dark.. but if you look at your engine bay, you'll see it). Its the plug right next to the coil pack. It might look like its connected, but tryin pulling up on it and see if its loose at all. If it is, push it back down firlmy and make sure it stays down.
Might not be your problem, but who knows.

yo G1GSX would your car run fine and then short out sorta deal ? im def gonna look into checkin those wires tomorrow. and yea my injector plugs are plugged in :thumb: when i find out the prob ill DEF let u guys know to help anybody else with similar probs. :)

veryt similar with my car..when i got it it would hesitate a little bit and i just figured iit needed a tune up (plugs/wires...)....until a CEL came on...cylinder 1 is misfiring...i took it to a garage and they couldnt figure it out..this is what ive checked.

-plugs
-plug wires
-boost solenoid
-swapped ecu
-injectors
-coilpack

Its not the injuector plugs, theres a plug behind it. Right next to the coil pack.
Ill see if I can find you a better pic.

Edit: Found a pic.... check this plug

NICKRULE99 yea thats for the power transistor..yea ive checked that already but i have not given up...tomorow im gonna do some more testing and ill let u guys know...thanks for all of the input! :thumb:

no mine wasnt getting spark to two cyls because of the wire being completely broken turned out when i ran the wiring for my amp i must of hit the wire ripping it in half it was a paint trying to figure out what it was i bought a new coil pack and everthing turned out to be a stupid little yellow wire

I am kind of in the same boat now also. WHile driving, the car killed and won't start, Good timing, sensors good, gets fuel but now spark. THe other thing is that the rmp guage stopped working also. I heard form someone that it is most likely the Cam angle sensor behing the intake cam gear. Anyone know how to check it without taking the belt and cam out?

12's u might want to look into testing your Power transistor becuase if your tach is acting funny and your car cutting out its most likely that. but yea i really havnt figured out my problem...but once i do ill def post the solution :thumb:
