ACT has been selling faulty clutches to a number of its customers. For the most part they have been brushing us aside, with exuces of improper installation. If you have, had a problem leave your DSM Screen name in the list below. then PM me with your Full name, location, car, and approx. date of incident. When I call ACT next week, I will take every name I gather from a number of DSM forums to them. If they still want to brush us aside. I will look into hiring a lawyer for all of us. I don't like making a scene. But a company is taking advantage of the DSM community and I will not let that happen to us. I am a kind person, but I will NOT let anyone WALK ALL OVER ME! I have counted 30+ compliants on this same issue, and the number is still climbing.

Its time we fight back.

have friend who did the same thing you did with his 91 gsx, and a friend with turbo civic hatch did the same thing too.

I bought a clutch and haven't had any problems yet so I signed up stating I bought one. But I would like more information as to what "problems' i could experience.

Springs are popping out, ruining the clutch disk, pressure plate, and flywheel.

subscribing, mine has been fine, it has 1000 miles on it, most are pretty hard miles but im keeping an eye on things anyway

im afirad to buy one now

this is starting to worry me.. i am close to purchasing another 2600 setup.. however i dont want to take any risk.. are there any alternatives for same price yet yield same quality

Lets see if they stand by their product first. but at a glance... no!

If something breaks before an unreasonable amount of time, and a company stands by their products, I'm not to worried about. If they shove blame of thier faulty products upon others, then I take action, as you see here.

I had the spring pop out on me and wrecked the flywheel but this was after about 35,000 miles. Overall i like there products im using there clutch and flywheel again and all is going good so far.

How would one know if their clutch is faulty...? I put mine in about 2 weeks ago, but it's been sitting around for about a month... It's making a grinding noise whenever I push the pedal in, regardless of how I adjust it, and it is having trouble engaging/disengaging...

thats how mine started out, rattling/grinding from Tranny. Followed disengaging/engaging issue. And then total failure. Its probably the same problem. Have it looked at, then add your name.

my 2100 has given me 15000 trouble free miles so far

Were they all installed right and used high quality throw out bearings?

The rivets came off the street disc at 2k miles with no hard launches. I ended up with 2 halved street discs.

my act 2600 has been flawless. 50+ launches on it and daily driven, rain snow sleet and hail. no problems with mine, but i also dont' own a 'dsm'

2600 has been fine too. 15000mi and 70 1/4mi (1.6sec 60ft launches too) passes later...

Here, I've helped clean this up a bit, since this thread was getting full of discussion. Please vote in this thread if you've had your ACT clutch fail due to springs popping out:
