Any DSM Tuners in the Colorado Springs/Denver area?
Hi all
I was just wondering if there are any tuners in the Colorado Springs/Denver area. I'm thinking of doing something special under the hood. The looks of my 96 Talon TSI are just fine stock. Don't want to change the looks at all. Thanks.

Ohhh... there are a bunch of us around. Lots in the greater Denver area, several in the Springs.

The founder of DSM Tuners (Ludachris) is from Lone Tree Colorado. Not too far away from you.

Thanks all
I had my 96 Talon in storage for the last 5 years and I thought I'd get it up and running again. Maybe with a little extra energy under the hood. It's stock now and I still consider it to be one of the most fun cars to drive.

My Talon has 59,000 miles on it, and I have been told that I should consider getting the timing belt replaced. I got a quote from Midas for $385. $85 for the belt and $300 for labor. The labor seems high, but then, it's been years since I had a garage do work on any of my vehicles. Any thoughts on the quoted price I received? Thanks.

Are there any weekly meets in Denver around the Cherry Creek area? I'm moving back to the Springs for a couple months then up to Denver.

Not too many DSM meets in the Denver or Cherry Creek area except for the few that happen at Hamburger Stand in Lakewood and another at Sonic I think. Those meets are for anyone and includes all cars. There's also an AWD meet every Sunday night at Clement Park close to Columbine.

As you put more and more time and money into the vehicles, doesn't the power and torque curves begin moving up into the high RPMs, thereby making the vehicle slow from a dead stop? I.E. you gain performance at the top end at the expense of the low end.

I would stick to a shop that does them regularly, I did the replacement on mine and found out that just replacing the belt isn't what's included in the "DMS Timing Belt Service". You also want to replace the water pump, timing belt tensioner, the main drive pulley. I got lucky when I was picking up a part and a service guy clued me in to it before I got it all put back together. Main reason to do these other parts is because they have the same life span and cost less than the labor to put them all in once you've got the engine open.

I'm in the springs. I do all kinds of work on my budys and I's cars. I'm a certified tech that likes to play around with dsm's. I can do your t-belt real cheap if you suply the parts. I got access to lifts and all kinds of fun stuff. Let me know if you need any help.
Also. Where are all the springs dsmers hangouts?

I'm in the springs and have been wanting to get a dsm meet going. We, my friends and I, have/had a spot behing the abandoned Albertsons and Longs Drugs at Academy and Dublin. I know its a little shady and bit fast and furious but we have spoken with the local businesses and they say there is nothing wrong with us meeting there, and since its secluded theres no harassment from the infamous CSPD. I'm thinking we should meet up next Saturday July 26th, right after my autocross at the World Arena (which you all should come watch in the morning). Anyway let me know if you all want to attend/think its a good idea.
