Ventilation issue

I have my car stripped down to a few interrior pieces. The problem comes from the missing heater/blower. I get fumes at low speeds bad. Obviously this is only a problem when I get caught in the rain. I have all holes plugged and I'm sure it comming in through any little crack since I'm not pressurizing the cabin. Any Ideas on how to get some airflow into the cabin with the windows up? I thought of running some 2" tubing from the front bumper and down the frame rail. Any output would be helpful.

Pegasus Racing has some 2.5" - 3" brake duct fans that might help. Should be easy enough to wire up under the dash. I'm just not sure where you'd bring the air from.

Hmm. I checked this out and it could be the answer. I could just go through the passenger side into the fender area behind the front wheel.. I'll let you know the results if I go this route.

Looks like it would work just fine.

You could add a roof scoop. Rally racers use them to pressurize the cabin to cut down on dust. Scroll to the bottom of the following page:

A cheaper version could be to find vents from older semi-tractors.

Some race cars have NACA ducts cut into the back side of the hood and have hoses running through the firewall.

Your fresh air intake should be as high as possible, otherwise you could be sucking in the fumes, carbon monoxide, etc. from other vehicles. Also on hot days the air temperature is warmer close to the road surface.

I'm going to pull it from my passenger fender with the 4" blower. I'll let you know how it works!

Installed in the passenger fender area and works great! Not bad for 25 bucks and some plastic. I ended going with the 3" so everything would fit. blows air through the cabin about equal to the stock blower on low!
