I placed 5th overall by index, and 2nd place in SM. This very fast Subaru really made it hard for me!!!
There were a few DSM guys from this board that were there. I did not have time to take a single picture, but here is an in-car video that someone made of me while i took them for a ride.

Will someone give an idea of how to know where to drive with those cones? I understand the laying down of the cones and all but sometimes the slaloms get me.

The video makes it 100X harder to figure it out. For one, the camera is all over the place. I should have told the rider that she could have used my camera mount. haha, oh well. When i set up this course i used as few cones as possable. I see lots of auto-x's where they think they need to use all their cones. We had very few DNF's so the course layout could not have been bad at all.

Nice job on the result Andy. When are you heading to another track day event? I saw you had the instructor/passenger with you in one pic. What did they think of the "little" 4 cylinder on the track?

in what pic? at Road America or the Auto-X?
at both events i did not have any instructor ride along, just some random passangers that wanted rides. For the auto-X, my talon is plenty fast, however for RA, I need more power!!!

It was at Road America. Just curious was all to see what they thought of the DSM on the track. More power you say??? What are you thinking about going with? Full build eh? Come join the fun with me on those projects Best money you will ever spend
Seriously though, where are you thinking about going from here?

Motor wise? I am content with 300 awhp for this year. Next year if i plan on keeping the talon, I will do a 2.3 stroker with a BB 50 trim.
on the MFBA forum (organization that hosted the RA event), one of the guys thought i had a 400hp talon. Then i showed them my dyno sheet.

Also, P/M Rich regarding stroker related vibrations. I'm leaning towards a 2.0 with a bit more compression to aid spool/recovery and thereby avoid safety wiring every bolt in the car.

Just a thought.
huh...well it will be a while before I even have to decide what route to go. I think my big choice will be: DSM or Other car....

I dunno about all that just yet, we'll see what you think of FWD as I'm sailing by in the braking zone since I'm 500lbs lighter
And then I'll be right back up there with ya as i will be able to power out of the turn giving me more corner exit speed.
I think the FWD vs AWD really comes down to the track. at RA, AWD is nearly pointless and just added weight. Sure a few turns it helps out, but that track is (Other than driver) 80% HP.

Yea, just watch the speedvision GT series. On a fast flowing course the lighter fwd's can accelerate, decelerate, and corner faster assuming that the corner acceleration isn't in an area where the hp gives issues. In my car with the 275's I can go dead flat in a straight line in 2nd gear, by 3rd I'd have to be making alot of hp for it to break loose.
The main reason though is I've got too much time and personal attachment to this car to get rid of it regardless of lap time gain. That's why I'll probably never be a professional driver.

Ha, I have never had a peronal attatchment issue with any of my cars. I always look foward to trying something new.

Tell that to those 400+ HP Cobra's that weren't exactly leaving you for dead on those straights.
