I have been seeing different sactioning bodies keep saying something about a racing log book. Where can I find one of these at? Any ideas or someone know right where I can get 1 at? Thanks.

EG

I can't speak for all sanctioning bodies, but for road racing with SCCA the log book is issued after a thorough inspection of the car's technical and safety features by an SCCA-licensed technical inspector. The log book is then collected at each race, and any required repairs are noted before being returned to the owner at the end of the event. Getting a log book does not imply that the car is "safe", nor that it complies with any or all class rules - just that at the moment of inspection it has all required equipment in place (roll cage, etc.).

Thanks Stan. I'll be doing a AutoCross on the 20th with SCCA, I will ask about them there. Thanks again for the info.

AFAIK Solo2 cars do not require lob books, but the tech folks there can put you in touch with the nearest Club Racing Region, who will definitely have them (and can perform the inspection to issue one).

Sounds good Stan, again thanks for the input. I am jsut getting back into racing after someone kindly thought they needed my car more than I did and stole, stripped it down and was even more kind and broguht it back to me. But oh well, what goes around comes around. I get the car back sometime this week back to where it was. A few $$$s but it had to be done. Thanks again man.

Good luck and have fun!

BTW, turbo DSMs are now legal in SCCA's B & D Prepared road racing classes, so if your plan is to do road racing you now have a place in SCCA to do it.

Hey thats good news Stan thanks for that tid bit on the new rules. I like SCCA just because they are closer to me here in Florida. The closest NASA events are in Central to southern Florida and allot of times its just not feesable for me to attend these events.

Eddie, I posted some comments about B& D Prepared in this thread (post #30), as well as links to the SCCA rules.

I will also be starting a thread in this sub-forum about building up a restricted motor. If you plan to race SCCA in future you will want to follow that thread for sure.

Stay in touch!

Great Stan. I really appreciate the help on this. Speak to you soon.

You won't be required to have a logbook for a simple SCCA autox.

mavisky - Oh I know, I realize that. I have raced in the past and I have just really misplaced the one I use to have. Howveer, someone gave it to me and I dont know where she got it from. Like I said earlier, I have had my car stolen and stripped and jsut now had the funds to get back into racing. The AutoCross deal came up because it is just close and I want to get back some wheel time I have lost. This thread was really just started to see if anyone knew right off hand where I could get one is all. Thanks though man.
