I am having a problem with one of my windshield wipers. I accidently turned them on when they were frozen, and now the drivers side wiper doesn't work. The passenger side one works fine. The drivers side wiper tries to go up, but it seems that there isnt enough power. Also, you can easily move the drivers side wiper, but not the passenger side one. If anyone knows any way to fix this, please post.

They both work off of the same motor. You should take it off, and see if the rod that connects to the driver's side fell off. It seems like something is wrong there. Good luck though, cause that is the one of the worst places to get your hands to. It's behind the firewall!

i have the same exact problem except backwards.. my passenger side is the one acting up. Someone plz respond and help me to fix this!!

Remove the cover and nut for the wiper arm, remove the arm and check where the arm mounts to the stud sticking out of the wiper cowl. We've seen alot of wiper arms strip out because of situations just like this.

ok so that is exactly the problem............ NOW what do i do?

If it's just the arm that is stripped out then you will need to replace the arm only. If the part that sticks out of the wiper cowl is stripped out then you will need to replace it. Sometimes it is a piece that fits in the palm of your hand, other times it's a linkage that's a foot or two long.

i PM'ed u doug.. if u dont read it first.. then just answer here:thumb: any advice on where to take it?

I've got to run right now but I would ask other wisemen and experienced members for help first. It may be a matter of a few screws and bolts to remove the wiper cowl and affected pivot. I'll research more tomorrow just hit me up with a PM to remind me to look.

Mine was pretty easy to fix. I took off the cap on the windshield wiper and tightened the nut under there. Do not overtighten it.

If that doesnt work then its probably stripped

well i decided to just glue it together :p it was totally stripped and im letting the silicon set overnight and hopefully i'll have functioning wipers in the morning:thumb:
